Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is "Family Dinner", so let's dive into it.
Family dinners vary from home to home. In some families, everyone eats together at the same time, usually around a table, gisting and sharing stories and catching up on each other's day. While in other homes, they eat at different times or in separate places due to busy schedules. However, eating together as a family is one of the most important and cherished things to do, especially for children, because it creates special moments and strengthens bonds.
I grew up eating as a family with my parents and siblings. When our mum was still alive, we always dined together, whether it was in the morning, afternoon, or night. Even if one of us was not around, our mum or dad would make sure we waited for that person, because to them, the family felt incomplete without that person. Though I was little at the time, but I was old enough to understand what's happening around me. If our dad was not back from work on time, our mum would ask us to wait for him or call him to ask when he would be home. And if our dad knew he'd be late from work, he would call and tell our mum to go ahead without him, and only then we would dine without him.

Sometimes if our dad was home early on weekdays, he'd often share funny memories of his youth that had us laughing as we ate, or on Sundays after church we would cook and eat while watching movies on our television. Sometimes if one of us wasn't satisfied with our portion and we told our mum or dad, they would share their own portion without saying anything. But everything changed when we lost our mum. Since then, we stopped eating together as we used to when she was still alive. The only time we do dine as a family was during Christmas and New Year when everyone gathered together in our hometown, but still it was a rare occasion because everyone eats where and when they like.
Looking back, I would say I loved and enjoyed those days when our mum was still alive and would make sure we dined together as a family. Anytime we did dine together, either she or our dad would alway thank God for His provision during our meal or while praying. Having dinner together as a family was the perfect time to bond and reflect on our blessings as a family.
In conclusion. As I grew up, I've decided never to forget the importance of dining together; even when I have my own family, I'll make it a tradition for us to always eat together, just as our mum did. From my personal experience, I've learned the importance of dining together as a family because it fosters stronger family bonds and creates memories that last a lifetime.
