Breaking News: Protests erupt in several provinces in Cuba

In my Latin American Report # 199, published just a few hours ago, I commented on the cornice road along which the Cuban government is moving, while the electric power and food systems have collapsed. The situation in the sanitary network is also critical. Faced with such a gloomy picture, it was almost irrational for civil society not to take to the streets, regardless of whether people get the big picture of the problems we have as nation. Santiago de Cuba is the city where the first and most massive protests were reported. Tomorrow we could have a better input of what has happened, to the extent that we have access to verified and reliable data, something very difficult in the vitiated Cuban information ecosystem. There are no reports so far of violent repression.
