The Condor of the Jungle
The American Vultures are impressive species, as I know not by their strong appearance, impeccable color shades and challenging look, which is usually accompanied by powerful claws, wide wings and a beak capable of tearing any prey with just one bite. Undoubtedly, these are animals naturally designed to reign in their own environment, therefore, they make a substantial difference when compared to other members of similar characteristics. The Jungle Condor or as it is known in Venezuelan lands, the Zamuro Rey, is one of those birds that usually attract the attention of anyone who has the opportunity to observe it, since its phenotypical characteristics are unique and its behavior is really interesting.

Los Buitres americanos son especies impresionantes, pues sé no por su aspecto fuerte, impecable matices de colores y mirada retadora, la cual suele venir acompañada con poderosas garras, amplias alas y un pico capaz de desgarrar a cualquier presa con solo un mordisco. Sin duda que se trata de animales diseñados naturalmente para reinar en su propio entorno, por lo tanto, marcan la diferencia de forma sustancial al ser comparados con otros miembros de similares características, el Cóndor de la Selva o como es conocido en tierras venezolanas el Zamuro Rey, es de esas aves que suelen llamar la atención de todo el que tiene la oportunidad de observarla, ya que sus características fenotípicas son únicas y su comportamiento es realmente interesante.
This is a species that in natural conditions plays a very important role in the cycle of life, since being scavenger birds their work is focused on helping in the process of natural absorption of the corpses of those other animals that have perished, since feeding on these bodies primarily cleaning the environment, but also pave the way for other species to feed on this type of remains.
Esta es una especie que en condiciones naturales juega un papel importantísimo dentro del ciclo de la vida, ya que al tratarse de aves carroñeras su labor se centra en ayudar en el proceso de absorción natural de los cadáveres de aquellos otros animales que han perecido, ya que el alimentarse de estos cuerpos en primer lugar la limpieza del medio ambiente, pero también le allanan el camino a otras especies para que se alimenten de este tipo de restos.
Almost the entire Venezuelan territory could be considered as an ideal habitat for this type of vulture, therefore, it is relatively easy to observe them in a natural environment, but for those who live immersed in a city like Caracas the only way to enjoy these animals is to visit them in zoos or parks.
Casi la totalidad del territorio venezolano se podría considerar como un hábitat ideal para este tipo de buitre, por lo tanto,, es relativamente fácil poderlos observar en un ambiente natural, pero para aquellos que vivimos inmersos en una ciudad como Caracas la única forma de poder disfrutar de estos animales es visitarlos en zoológicos o parques.
That is why while I was taking a walk through the facilities of the Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Park, I took this opportunity to visit the entire area related to the aviary, to tell the truth there are many incredible species, but one of the most impressive is undoubtedly the Zamuro Real, also this specimen that I present in the photographs I think it is used to pose for the camera of visitors, as it continually had its wings and showed their best poses, where we could appreciate the beauty and grandeur of this great bird.
Es por ello que mientras daba un paseo por las instalaciones del Parque Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda, aproveché esta oportunidad para visitar toda el área relativa al aviario, a decir verdad se encuentran muchas especies increíbles, Pero uno de los más imponentes es sin duda alguna el Zamuro Real, además este ejemplar que les presento en las fotografías creo que está acostumbrado a posar ante la cámara de los visitantes, ya que continuamente habría sus alas y mostraba sus mejores poses, en donde podíamos apreciar la belleza y grandiosidad de esta gran ave.
