There are stories that I think make us overcome the boundaries of imagination, I think one of them is that of the Legendary Mr. Roboto where the aesthetics of an artificial being with an expression that I consider malevolent, stays in the global mind of everyone who knows him .... is as if you met a Mechanized God of Dance.
Mr. Roboto of the group Styx is a music video in which the band through all the production processes manages to represent the story of that being to whom they gave life in lyrics and music, it is a video with a filmic structure in the technological style, wonderful years of the 80's to develop this type of story with its striking and exotic theme by the Japanese elements implemented in the visual of Mr. Roboto.
With this video of StyX Group I have two approaches to review it because I saw it in the distant 2000, in those days I was very adolescent and did not understand English so in my mind pleasantly this is a different story to what the characters of the video transmit and it is funny because my mind adapted it to some famous and colorful heroic characters of the 90s.
Hay historias que pienso hacen que superemos las fronteras de la imaginación, considero que una de ellas es la de ese Legendario Mr. Roboto donde la estética de un ser artificial con una expresión que considero malévola, se queda en la mente global de todo aquel que le conoce.... es como si conocieras un Dios Mecanizado del Baile.
Mr. Roboto del grupo Styx es un video musical en el cual la banda a través de todos los procesos de producción nos logra representar la historia de ese ser a quien ellos le dieron vida en letra y música, es un video con una estructura fílmica al estilo tecnológico, maravillosos años de los 80 para desarrollar este tipo de historia con su temática llamativa y exótica por los elementos Japoneses implementados en la visual de Mr. Roboto.
Con este video del Grupo StyX tengo dos enfoques para reseñarlo porque lo vi en los ya lejanos 2000, en aquellos tiempos estaba muy adolescente y no entendía ingles entonces en mi mente gratamente esta una historia diferente a lo que transmiten los personajes del video y es gracioso porque mi mente la adapto a unos famosos y coloridos personajes heroicos de los 90.
- Mr. Roboto reminds me of Power Rangers
Just as you read it, my eternal mind as a child saw in this story a conflict very similar to that series I watched as a child and nothing could be further from reality when you go into detail of what the lyrics, which is basically the narrative of the video, wants to tell us.
Mr. Roboto I saw him innocently and mistakenly as a Hero who wanted to save Humanity while dancing from a group of evil human ex-convicts who wanted to inflict terror on the planet who also danced haha.
Everything I convey in this part of the review is my imagination of those times going a step further than what the story wanted to bring up. I think many times when I hear and see music videos, I don't want to understand what they say and my mind just gear the sequence of events in what would be my version of that story I'm watching.
- The Choreography is a Technological Genius
The way Mr. Roboto dances is very robotic, that is to say I see it clumsy, rigid and simple but he does it with so much style in what are the climax points of the song that when I see them they are great, As a teenager and even today I still like to see those moments of greater style in the video where what stands out the most is the choreography to repeat again and again those moments of conflict in the story.
- Mr. Roboto me recuerda a Los Power Rangers
Así como lo leen, mi mente eterna de niño vio en esta historia un conflicto muy parecido a esa serie que veía de niño y nada mas alejado de la realidad cuando entras en detalle de lo que la letra, que es básicamente la narrativa del video, nos quiere contar.
Mr. Roboto yo lo vi inocentemente y erróneamente como un Héroe que quería salvar a la Humanidad mientras bailaba de un grupo de malvados humanos ex presidiarios que querían infligir terror en el planeta los cuales también bailaban jaja.
Todo lo que transmito en esta parte de la reseña es mi imaginación de aquellos tiempos dando un paso mas allá de lo que la historia quería plantear. Pienso muchas veces cuando oigo y veo videos musicales, que no quisiera entender lo que dicen y que mi mente simplemente engrane la secuencia de eventos en lo que seria mi versión de esa historia que estoy viendo.
- La Coreografía es una Genialidad Tecnológica
El modo de Bailar de Mr. Roboto es muy robótica, es decir lo veo torpe, rígido y simple pero lo hace con tanto estilo en lo que son puntos clímax de la canción que cuando los veo son geniales, De adolescente y aun hoy me sigue agradando ver esos momentos de mayor estilo en el video donde lo que mas resalta es la coreografía para repetir una y otra vez esos momentos de conflicto en la historia

The years went by and after college and with more time to enjoy youtube, I went back to get this video but now there was a big difference, I had a better understanding of English and the curiosity to know what was really happening in this Cyber Punk Nippon world of Mr. Roboto and I understood that in reality he is the villain of this story.
I really don't know how I came to think that he was a hero haha with that exotically evil face in his inanimate Japanese facial expressions that freeze into a single expression that when I see it better I consider it terrifying.
I think this is a key element in the success of what this story wants to convey, it is not just another robot, the lyrics of the song starts in Japanese and of course the villain of this story had to have something aesthetically speaking that made me hallucinated to that culture and the technological elements that surround it remind me a lot of Terminator, I do not know if this may have inspired those who made this video but that is the feeling that transmits me.
An extremely entertaining video to watch, it's not just the music that I'm sure will please you, but the Mr. Roboto that makes this video legendary and with fans around the world that will always admire this Styx video legacy that I hope you will enjoy watching again and again this great story.
- Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto por ser un Villano tan Genial
En este segmento de la reseña me enfoco en lo que la historia del video de verdad quiere transmitir, primero resalto la estética Japonesa en las expresiones de estos Mr Roboto que bailan una y otra vez para aterrar a la población y mantenerlos presos sin libertad.
Pasaron los años y ya avanzada la universidad y con mayor tiempo para disfrutar de youtube, volví a conseguirme este video pero ahora había una gran diferencia, tenía mayor comprensión del ingles y la curiosidad por saber en verdad lo que sucedía en este mundo Cyber Punk Nipon de Mr. Roboto y comprendí que en realidad él es el Villano de esta historia.
De verdad no se como llegue a pensar que el era un héroe jaja con esa cara tan exóticamente malvada en sus expresiones faciales japonesas inanimadas que se congelan en una sola expresión que al verla mejor la considero terrorífica.
Pienso esto es un elemento clave en el éxito de lo que quiere transmitir esta historia, no es un robot mas, la letra de la canción inicia en Japones y claro el Villano de esta historia tenía que tener algo estéticamente hablando que hiciera alucinó a esa cultura y los elementos tecnológicos que la rodean me recuerdan mucho a Terminator, no se si esto quizá haya inspirado a quienes elaboraron este video pero esa es la sensación que me transmite.
Un video en extremo entretenido de ver, no es solo la música que estoy seguro les agradara, si no el Mr. Roboto lo que hace este video sea legendario y con fans en el mundo que siempre admiraran este legado en video de Styx y que espero disfrutes mucho al ver una y otra vez esta gran historia.
