Eyewitness Account: Accident and First Aid Treatment
I witnessed a distressing accident involving two Keke (tricycles) at 2 Lane, Uyo. This occur as I was passing by, I saw two Keke collide with each other. The impact was severe, and the riders and passengers were thrown off balance. One of the riders, a [age 37 /gender male ], appeared to be injured.
First Aid Treatment
I immediately rushed to the scene to offer assistance. Taking them to a chemist, Upon assessing the situation, I make sure basic first aid treatment was given to the victim
- Cuts and bruises on the face and arms
- A possible sprain on the ankle
- Called for emergency services and reported the incident.
- The chemist person applied gentle pressure to the wounds using clean cloths to stop the bleeding.
- They provided comfort and reassurance to the victim.
- They helped the victim into a comfortable position.
Aftermath
The emergency services arrived promptly, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The incident served as a stark reminder of the importance of being prepared and knowing basic first aid techniques.
