Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing to you from a small ski resort village in the French Alps (rather than my normal home in Cape Town, South Africa)!
Welcome to "Three Tune Tuesday", an initiative started by @ablaze. It is week 145 overall! My current pattern for how I will be contributing to TTT is to take the Hive Open Mic challenge Theme of the Week and give suggestions on how I would tackle it!
For those of you who are not familiar, the Hive Open Mic is a weekly challenge on the Hive Open Mic community for anybody who loves to sing. You don’t even need to play an instrument, a backing track or a cappella is also fine as far as I can tell!
Different artists are given the chance to choose a “Theme of the Week” that the posts should be based on. Often it can be difficult for people to think about easy songs that might fit that theme… so let me see if I can be of any assistance to the people who still might not know what to try by the time Tuesday comes around!

SONG NUMBER 1
“Kung Fu Fighting” – Carl Douglas
As most of us know, Kung Fu is a term that encompasses a wide range of martial arts styles from China. I’ve had some classes in wing chun, Tai Chi and 7-star mantis styles myself.
What version of this song do you remember best? The original from 1974?
Carl Douglas returning to do the chorus on the Bus Stop version from 1998? (This is probably the version I recognise best?)
Or perhaps you only know the version that was used for the “Kung Fu Panda” movie, sung by Ceelo Green and the star of the movie Jack Black, who does sing brilliantly whenever he gets the chance it seems! I love the Kung Fu Panda movie, as it really seemed to pay homage to all sorts of classic Shaw Brothers Kung Fu movie… the Furious Five reminds me of “The Five Deadly Venoms”, but also paying tribute to actual styles of Kung Fu including Crane and Mantis styles…

“Big In Japan” - Alphaville
As soon as I heard the theme, the chorus of this song started playing in my head. I think I learnt the chords when I was a kid… I wonder if I could work them out again?

“Pokemon Theme (Gotta Catch ‘em All!) – Jason Paige
Most Anime originates from Japan, and Pokemon is no different. How many of us grew up as kids recognising this wonderful theme tune?
Are you struggling to imagine how to cover that? Perhaps these awesome cats can blow you away with their acoustic version!
So that's week 145 done and dusted! I hope that gave some people some ideas on how to tackle the Hive Open Mic Challenge this week? Perhaps I’ve even inspired one or two new people to give it a try? Please let me know!

Hola a todos en HIVE, y especialmente a la comunidad musical. ¡Mi nombre es Jasper y les escribo desde una pequeña estación de esquí en los Alpes franceses (en lugar de mi hogar habitual en Ciudad del Cabo, Sudáfrica)!
Bienvenidos a "Three Tune Tuesday", una iniciativa iniciada por @ablaze. ¡Es la semana 145 en total! Mi patrón actual sobre cómo contribuiré a TTT es tomar el tema de la semana del desafío Hive Open Mic y dar sugerencias sobre cómo lo abordaría.
Para aquellos de ustedes que no están familiarizados, Hive Open Mic es un desafío semanal en la comunidad de Hive Open Mic para cualquiera que ame cantar. ¡Ni siquiera necesitas tocar un instrumento, por lo que yo sé, una pista de acompañamiento o a capela también está bien!

Me encanta la película Kung Fu Panda, ya que realmente parecía rendir homenaje a todo tipo de películas clásicas de Kung Fu de los hermanos Shaw... los Cinco Furiosos me recuerdan a "Los cinco venenos mortales", pero también rinden homenaje a los estilos reales de Kung Fu, incluidos Estilos Grulla y Mantis...
