WaltInAsia 11 - Finals days in Bali, back to Kuta for Airport

in voilk •  yesterday

Reason to come back to Kuta was to remove the stress of airport transfer in the morning. I spent my last 3 nights in Kuta and 2 of them at a nice hotel 15mins walk to the Airport, just make your life so much easier and considering doing that if coming back at night because you avoid all the Taxi surcharge and problems when landing in Bali.

    Hard Rock café

I did see it upon arrival and wanted to go there before I left Kuta the first time but didn't go. I was walking and decided to hit the café for an afternoon drink. The lady at reception was really nice, she saw I started taking a few pictures of the items they have inside so she actually showed me around the whole place and even to the restaurant downstairs which wasn't open to the public yet and I thought that was so amazing and such good service on their part. Kudos to Hard Rock Cafe in Bali.

I was actually looking for some KISS items, I wanted to send a picture to a friend who I went to the last KISS concert with last year in New York so this was a nice one.

The lady talked me about the event happening tonight and invited me to came back if I wanted to, in the end I didn't but it was nice and good business practice.

I went back upstairs to finish my drink and headed to the shop. Note for next time go to the shop first because you get the discount vouchers for the bar 😅. So I have two vouchers with me for the Bali Hard Rock Cafe and also for the smaller one they have at the international airport which I didn't know was there.

    Relaxing days

Last days was about relaxing, eating good food and a few last pictures of the beach. The season in Bali is coming to an end, I got really lucky with the weather over my 3 weeks here except a few rainy days it was ok.

For the privilege to not have too many tourists it was worth the risk to visit around that time which was end of October to mid November for me.

Don't remember what the meal was but I am guessing a Brunch or maybe early dinner I had at some point :)

Bali is good for Indonesian food at the local Warung restaurants but you also find more Western food everywhere and the price is acutely pretty correct even if more expensive than local of course.

Spent some time at the Beachwalk mall as well and had a nice time over there, I really like the vibe of the place but I did talk about it already in a previous post around Kuta. My first night of the 3 last for 5 mins walk to the mall which turned out to be an added benefit during one of my evening.

Hotel with pool near Airport - 15/20 mins Walk to terminal

I found a nice hotel on Booking.com which I did book a bit in advance because I knew I would be flying out, only booked my last 2 nights there so I could just drop my bag and go to the beach one last time. This also explain why I had an extra not really planned night in Kuta at another hotel, I came back one day earlier, didn't really have a plan.

It was nice and I got the pool by myself one afternoon, it is pretty small but since there are not too many people it is nice. Also went for a swim in the sea when I was there because it was maybe 10mins walk to a side of the beach which isn't crowded.

It was a good spot also for food, small restaurants and a mini food court close by so not too much walking was needed during my last two days here.

Also found a express laundry service just behind the hotel on the way to the Airport, I did the walk to checkout if it was easier and to know the path on the morning I was flying from. It was convenient before flying to my next destination to have all my clothes done so I can restart fresh and not worry for a few days when getting to a new place.

As you can see pretty standard double room with private bathroom, a fridge and tea/making facility. Also a water dispenser was available at the end of the corridor.

Really happy about my choice for my last days in Bali. Stay tuned for the next article about my flight with Scoot to Singapore which turned out happened at one of the worst time to flight out of the island in 2024.

Bonus tip: To make your life easier when landing in Bali, either stay close to airport or pre book a transfer to your hotel, someone will wait for you at the airport and I was happy I did that especially if it is your first time here.
