    Introduction

It's been a while! I have so many eating-out posts to write since I was pretty much eating out everyday with my family that visited Malaysia from the states. We had a family lunch at Kampai Yakiniku. My mom already planned ahead and reserved this place months ago. I was looking forward to eating here and there was a slight hiccup due to miscommunication by someone in our family which caused us to change the booking date. In the end, I did get to eat here and I will share my experience in this post!

Kampai Yakiniku is a bbq that specializes in Wagyu yakiniku style. They market themselves as the "most affordable wagyu buffet in town". It is kind of true though with their lowest unlimited buffet starting at RM199/pax but it has limited options. The real one to go for is the RM299/pax but unfortunately it doesn't include the top sirloin blade, oyster blade and chuck roll parts of the cow. The place has an amazing 4.9 stars out of 5 with over 4,423 google reviews. This is probably why my mom wanted to try this place out!

    Food

We ordered 2 sets of this 7 kinds of meat since a buffet would've been tough since it would limit my family from trying other food since they are visiting Malaysia. One set was shared between my brother, my brother's wife and me and the other one was shared between my mom and stepdad. They did give us some of their pieces as well. We cooked it ourselves and it cooked pretty fast. Honestly, it was a great experience and probably not a place I would go too often unless I somehow make way more money. The meat was super tender and super soft; it could literally melt in your mouth. The food was also quite filling since it was super fatty so I'm not even sure how much I would've been able to eat if it was a buffet.

    Concluding Thoughts

I don't have the receipt. My parents paid for this one but hopefully sometime soon in the future I will get them back. I'm sure this was close or over RM1k which is a lot in Malaysia terms but not much for my parents since they making USD. Anyways, I loved this place. I would definitely come back. The food was good. I love beef and wagyu is definitely up there in god-tier food. If you never had wagyu before, you should at least try once in your life! I'd give this place a 5/5. I could find any fault in food or service. Ambience was great as well!
