Hello, all my friends #gardenjournal hopes you continue to be healthy and can contribute to cooling the earth by planting what you like.
I grafted a red deli Rose Apple tree starting yesterday. Red deli Rose Apple is known for its flavor. It is very pleasant to eat and very fragile. Its sweetness is not too sweet; it can be said that it tastes just right.
One of the techniques used to propagate one of the techniques is grafting for the right solution. This method allows you to produce new seedlings with identical traits from their parents so that the alluring red color and distinctive sweetness of red deli Rose Apple are maintained. In addition, grafted plants usually bear fruit faster than seedlings from seeds, making them suitable for accelerating production and expanding markets. The process is relatively simple, although it requires precision in the selection of materials and post-grafting treatment.
The first step is to prepare tools and materials, such as a sterile sharp knife, transparent plastic, raffia, graft medium (a mixture of fertile soil and mature manure), and clean water. Choose a healthy mother stem, at least 1-2 years old, with a diameter of about 1-2 cm. Make sure it is free from pests, has straight branches, and has produced superior quality fruit. The ideal part for grafting is the secondary branches that are exposed to sufficient sunlight, as they have active cambium tissue that supports the growth of new roots.
Peel off 3-5 cm of bark using a sharp knife, then scrape the cambium until the surface of the wood looks dry (about 2-3 minutes). Apply a natural root-stimulating agent (I used onion here), such as onion water or diluted honey solution, to accelerate root growth. Wrap the peeled area with the moistened graft medium, then wrap it tightly using transparent plastic. Tie the two ends of the plastic with raffia, making sure there is no air gap to keep the medium moist. Place the graft in the shade for 4-6 weeks while regularly monitoring root development through the plastic.
Once white-brown roots appear and fill the medium (usually 6-8 weeks), cut the grafted stem 5 cm below the bundle using a sterile saw. Open the plastic slowly to avoid damaging the roots, then plant the seedlings in polybags containing a mixture of soil, firewood husks, and compost (2:1:1 ratio). Keep it in a shaded area for 2-3 weeks for adaptation, then move it to an open location gradually. Water regularly in the morning and evening, and apply a low dose of NPK fertilizer every 2 weeks to stimulate vegetative growth.
Once the grafted seedlings have grown well (50-70 cm tall), you can sell them as seedlings or plant them yourself to expand your garden. Please include information on the uniqueness of red deli Rose Apple in promotions, such as its attractive red color and antioxidant content. Utilize social media or work with local farmer groups to expand your market reach. Maintain fruit quality with organic fertilization and regular pruning of the branches. With the proper grafting technique, red deli Rose Apple will not only be your pride but also a highly competitive commodity for your region.
Good luck
Thanks
