Es un gusto estar por acá compartiendo con ustedes parte de mis aventuras, en las pasadas celebraciones de carnavales no tenía previsto viajar a ningún lado, pero mis hijos me insistieron en que saliéramos aunque fuese cerca, entonces decidimos ir al Parque Zoológico y Botánico Bararida, en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, a poca distancia de mi ciudad actual en el Estado Lara, Venezuela

It's a pleasure to be here sharing with you part of my adventures, during the last carnival celebrations I had not planned to travel anywhere, but my children insisted that we go out even if it was close, so we decided to go to the Bararida Zoological and Botanical Park, in the city of Barquisimeto, a short distance from my current city in Lara State, Venezuela
En las fechas de temporada alta, así cómo en esta ocasión los carnavales, poco acostumbro a viajar ya que no me gusta lo difícil que se pone todo, sin nombrar también lo costoso que resulta, este año no tenía previsto visitar ningún lugar, pero mis hijos me insistieron en que fuéramos al zoológico, tenía alrededor de 6 años que no visitaba este parque, la última vez que fui sentí mucha tristeza ya que en mi país estábamos viviendo una crisis económica muy fuerte y los animales no escaparon de esto, todos los que allí habitaban estaban demasiado desnutridos, esto me conmovió muchísimo así que decidí no volver en mucho tiempo, pero debido a la insistencia de mis hijos acepté y nos fuimos de aventura a este hermoso “Parque Zoológico y Botánico Bararida”, ubicado en la ciudad de Barquisimeto estado Lara, Venezuela.
Llegamos aproximadamente a las 9 am, no había mucha gente aún, la entrada para el parque tiene un costo 2$ por persona, las personas con discapacidad o de la tercera edad no pagan, al igual que los niños menores de 4 años, por el vehículo se paga 1$ y así poder dejarlo en el estacionamiento el cual me pareció bastante seguro, allí te reciben unos guardaparques los cuales te advierten en que no puedes ingresar objetos de vidrio, pitillos o pajillas, pelotas, bicicletas ni nada que se le parezca, esto es para seguridad de los animales, tampoco permiten ingresar cornetas ni nada que haga ruido.
Luego de comprar las entradas nos dispusimos a entrar al parque, de niña mi mamá nos llevaba muy seguido así que este parque me lo sé casi de memoria, a pesar de qué es bastante amplio y tiene varios tipos de caminarías, a medida que comenzábamos la caminata yo les narraba a mis hijos qué animal iba en cada jaula a la que llegábamos, ja ja, ahí es donde te das cuenta que ya tienes algo de edad 🤭
During the high season, as well as this time during the carnivals, I don't usually travel because I don't like how difficult everything is, not to mention how expensive it is. This year I hadn't planned to visit any place, but my children insisted that we go to the zoo. I hadn't visited this park for about 6 years. The last time I went I felt very sad because in my country we were experiencing a very strong economic crisis and the animals didn't escape this. All of the animals that lived there were too malnourished. This moved me a lot so I decided not to go back for a long time, but due to the insistence of my children I accepted and we went on an adventure to this beautiful "Bararida Zoo and Botanical Park", located in the city of Barquisimeto, Lara state, Venezuela.
We arrived at approximately 9 am, there weren't many people yet, the entrance to the park costs $2 per person, disabled people or seniors don't pay, as well as children under 4 years old, you pay $1 for the vehicle and you can leave it in the parking lot which seemed pretty safe to me, there you are greeted by some park rangers who warn you that you can't bring in glass objects, straws, balls, bicycles or anything similar, this is for the safety of the animals, they also don't allow horns or anything that makes noise.
After buying the tickets we got ready to enter the park, as a child my mother took us there very often so I know this park almost by heart, despite the fact that it is quite large and has several types of walkways, as we began the walk I told my children what animal went in each cage we came to, ha ha, that's where you realize that you're already a bit old 🤭
El primer animal que nos conseguimos fue el león, me gustan muchísimo los felinos así que duré un rato observando a este bello animal, al seguir la caminata nos conseguimos la jaula de los babuinos, en el momento había uno solo, este nos dio una bienvenida desfilando por todo el alrededor de la jaula, seguido está la jaula del tigre y del leopardo, allí duré otro rato más observándolos, a pesar de qué ellos casi no se mueven ya que pasan gran parte del día acostados, supongo que por estar encerrados y por ser felinos llevan una rutina muy parecida a la de los gatos.
Seguimos el recorrido por la carretera, allí nos conseguimos a una hermosa cebra, está es un poco agresiva así que le tomé las fotos de lejos, uno de los guardaparques nos dijo que ella busca a morder a las personas que intentan tocarla, así que no quise molestarla mucho no quería llegar a casa con una mordida de cebra, ja ja, luego nos conseguimos a los hipopótamos pero estos estaban sumergidos en el agua y no pude tomarle fotografías, siguiendo el recorrido comenzó mi nostalgia ya que seguía la jaula en donde estaban los lémures, en la que ya no hay ni uno.
Luego continuaba la jaula en la que estaban los elefantes, pero estos fallecieron hace varios años y en su lugar me sorprendió muchísimo el animal que se encuentra allí, creo que nunca había escuchado de este cruce de animales, llamado Cebrallo, es la mezcla del cruce entre cebra y caballo, su color marrón con franjas es hermoso y su cuerpo lo puedes ver perfectamente como el de una cebra, allí también hay algunos burros o asnos.
The first animal we found was the lion. I really like felines, so I spent a while watching this beautiful animal. As we continued our walk, we found the baboon cage. At the time, there was only one, and it welcomed us by parading all around the cage. Next was the tiger and leopard cages. I spent a while there watching them, even though they hardly move, as they spend most of the day lying down. I suppose that because they are locked up and because they are felines, they have a routine very similar to that of cats.
We continued along the road, there we found a beautiful zebra, it is a bit aggressive so I took pictures of it from a distance, one of the park rangers told us that it tries to bite people who try to touch it, so I didn't want to bother it too much, I didn't want to come home with a zebra bite, ha ha, then we found the hippos but they were submerged in the water and I couldn't take pictures, following the route my nostalgia began as I continued to the cage where the lemurs were, which no longer have any.
Then there was the cage where the elephants were, but they died several years ago and instead I was very surprised by the animal that is there, I think I had never heard of this cross between animals, called Zebrallo, it is the mix of the cross between a zebra and a horse, its brown color with stripes is beautiful and you can see its body perfectly like that of a zebra, there are also some donkeys or asses there
Bueno para resumir un poco, en nuestra caminata pudimos ver avestruz, llamas, tucanes, gorilas, guacamayas 🦜 estas muy coloridas y graciosas, bulliciosas y muy hermosas, pavo real, cocodrilos, caimanes, buey 🐂 , osos 🐻, monos de muchas especies, Garzas, entre otros, en el parque también hay una gran laguna en la que puede pasear en botes o mini lanchas, Como no accedimos a este lugar no sé cuánto es el costo de las mismas, ta dentro de la Laguna hay unos grandes peces y tortugas.
Cerca de la laguna puedes conseguir algunas banquetas o cabañas en las que puedes descansar un rato, esta caminata es bastante larga así que decidimos esperar un rato y comer algunas de las chucherías que llevábamos, allí disfrutamos de la vista hermosa hacia la laguna, de las iguanas y de la cantidad de gente que llegaba a cada momento, mientras más pasaba el tiempo más gente se veía en el parque, por suerte llegamos temprano.
Well to summarize a bit, on our walk we were able to see ostriches, llamas, toucans, gorillas, macaws 🦜 these are very colorful and graceful, boisterous and very beautiful, peacocks, crocodiles, alligators, oxen 🐂 , bears 🐻, monkeys of many species, herons, among others, in the park there is also a large lagoon where you can go for a ride in boats or mini boats, Since we did not access this place I do not know how much they cost, even inside the lagoon there are some large fish and turtles.
Near the lagoon you can get some stools or cabins where you can rest for a while, this walk is quite long so we decided to wait a while and eat some of the candy we carried, there we enjoyed the beautiful view of the lagoon, the iguanas and the amount of people that arrived at every moment, the more time passed the more people were seen in the park, luckily we arrived early.
Luego de descansar fuimos a una parte del zoológico que se llama serpentario, aquí la entrada tiene un costo de 1$ y puedes observar una variedad de especies de serpientes 🐍, al principio no quería entrar ya que le tengo pánico a la serpientes, pero mi hija más chiquita me insistió así que agarré valor y entré con ella.
Estuvimos observándolas detalladamente grabamos varios videos, yo le bromeaba a mi hija diciéndole que esa noche tendría pesadillas, ya que en realidad le tengo mucho miedo a estos animales, pero también los admiro dentro de su belleza y lo mejor de todo es que aquí los puedes observar bien de cerca y sabes que no te podrán hacer nada Jaja, también hay algunas especies de lagartos, y tortugas.
After resting we went to a part of the zoo called the serpentarium, here the entrance costs $1 and you can see a variety of snake species 🐍, at first I didn't want to go in because I'm terrified of snakes, but my youngest daughter insisted so I gathered my courage and went in with her.
We observed them in detail and recorded several videos, I joked with my daughter telling her that she would have nightmares that night, since I'm actually very afraid of these animals, but I also admire them for their beauty and the best of all is that here you can observe them up close and you know that they won't be able to do anything to you Haha, there are also some species of lizards and turtles.
Éste parque aparte de ser zoológico también es botánico ya que aquí puedes encontrar una gran variedad de especies de plantas, entre ellos el bambú que es poco común en mi país, también encuentras muchas especies de árboles y en el vivero una gran variedad de cactus y suculentas, aquí les muestro algunas fotografías de las plantas que más me gustaron.
This park, apart from being a zoo, is also botanical, since here you can find a great variety of plant species, including bamboo, which is uncommon in my country. You can also find many species of trees and in the nursery a great variety of cacti and succulents. Here I show you some photographs of the plants that I liked the most.
La caminata recorriendo el parque se nos extendió por tanto tiempo que cuando mire el reloj ya iban a ser las 3 de la tarde, me gusta mucho este tipo de actividades ya que siento que estoy en la naturaleza y lo mejor de todo, rodeada de muchos animales, que a pesar de qué no me gusta que estén encerrados, tienes la dicha de poder verlos de cerca.
En este lugar puedes encontrar varios sitios en los que puedes comer, también tienes un zoológico de contacto en el que puedes tocar algunos animales, también puedes hacer el curso para guardar parques y en algunas fechas de cada mes hay campamentos en los que puedes pernoctar dentro del parque, me gustó mucho esta visita, el parque ha ido mejorando poco a poco, espero que siga avanzando y que estos animales tengan mejor calidad de vida, eso es todo por hoy me despido deseándoles un montón de aventuras y felicidad.
The walk through the park lasted so long that when I looked at my watch it was almost 3 in the afternoon. I really like this type of activity because I feel like I'm in nature and best of all, surrounded by many animals, and even though I don't like them being locked up, you have the joy of being able to see them up close.
In this place you can find several places where you can eat, there is also a contact zoo where you can touch some animals, you can also take the course to be a park ranger and on certain dates of each month there are camps where you can spend the night inside the park. I really liked this visit. The park has been improving little by little. I hope it continues to advance and that these animals have a better quality of life. That's all for today.
