Reflecting on my goals of 2024.

2024 started off as a really tough year for me, filled with challenges and uncertainties. But as time went on, things began to fall into place, and I’m incredibly grateful to God for how far I’ve come. It wasn’t a perfect year, but it was a year of growth, learning, and small victories that made a big difference in my life.

At the beginning of the year, I had so many goals and aspirations. While I wasn’t able to accomplish all of them, I’m proud of the ones I did achieve and have learned valuable lessons from the ones I didn’t. Let me share a few of these goals and how things turned out.

One of my major goals this year was to be able to pay my school expenses on my own without relying heavily on my parents. The cost of living in school can be incredibly high—things like buying food, handouts, and other necessities often add up quickly. I wanted to break away from the constant need to ask for financial help from my parents. At times, I even ran errands for friends to make a little extra money to cover some of my needs.

Thankfully, I worked towards this goal and prayed about it, and now I can confidently say that I’ve achieved it. I’m at a point where I can cover many of my school expenses independently, and that feels like a big step forward. It may not seem like much to others, but to me, it’s a significant milestone toward financial independence, and I’m really proud of it."

    Getting a Laptop

Another goal I set for myself this year was to get a laptop. This was something I really wanted because I knew how much it would help me with schoolwork, especially for projects and presentations. Unfortunately, this goal wasn’t achieved, and I’m still without a laptop.

The main reason I couldn’t achieve this goal was financial. Being a student means having so many expenses—food, transportation, school materials, and even unexpected costs. Saving up for a laptop just wasn’t realistic for me this year. Whenever I had money, there was always something urgent I needed to spend it on.

Not having a laptop was a big challenge for me, especially during my presentations and projects. I often had to borrow from friends, and that made things harder. It was tough to fully focus and complete my tasks without interruptions or delays. Even though I couldn’t accomplish this goal, it’s still on my list, and I’ll keep working towards it.

Reaching 1,000 Hive Power or more

One goal I’m particularly proud of achieving this year was accumulating over 1,000 Hive Power. When I joined the Hive platform in May, I didn’t know much about how it worked, but once I understood the system, I made it a priority to grow my Hive Power.

I achieved this by consistently powering up my posts, sometimes to 100%, and participating in power-up events. Even on regular days, I made an effort to convert some of my HBD to Hive and powered it up. It wasn’t easy, but with determination, consistency, and a clear focus, I hit my target. This achievement has been so rewarding because it shows that hard work and commitment really do pay off.

Looking back, 2024 was a year of mixed emotions. I’m grateful for the goals I accomplished and the progress I made, but I’m also reflective about the ones I didn’t achieve. Each experience taught me something valuable. For the goals I missed, I know I’ll work harder and smarter next year to make them a reality.

More than anything, I’m thankful to God for how much I’ve grown this year and I’m proud of the journey so far.
