    HIVE MUSIC ZONE WEEK 71 ROUND 2: LENTEN SERIES: LORD OF MERCY AND COMPASSION

    Hello dear friends and music companions of Hive Music Festival, I hope you are doing great. I am, as always, delighted to be here once again after some time of absence.

    I am delighted to announce to you that I will begin a series that I title, THE LENTEN SERIES. The idea is that I will present songs that are related or that have the theme of the Lent season. As you may have guessed, this is inspired by the fact that after the previous ash Wednesday, we are now in a season know as lent.

    This season begins from ash Wednesday and ends on the good Friday. It is also characterized by a time of very deep reflection and introspection. It is generally a time when Christians look into themselves, recognize that they are in need of God's presence and mercy. This also allows them to forgive others who may have offended them.

    For this purpose I wish to sing the song titled, God of mercy and compassion. It is a very typical song for this season. The words carry very special penitential elements that expresses the sober mood of this period.

    Whether Christian or not, it is a scientifically proven fact that we should take some time for sober reflection on our lives. This is the perfect opportunity to do that.

    I hope you relate with this presentation. While you are it, I wish you a fulfilled weekend!

    LYRICS

    1 God of mercy and compassion,
    Look with pity upon me.
    Father, let me call Thee Father,
    ’Tis Thy child returns to Thee.
    Refrain:
    Jesus, Lord, I ask for mercy;
    Let me not implore in vain;
    All my sins—I now detest them,
    Never will I sin again.
    2 By my sins I have deserved
    Death and endless misery;
    Hell, with all its pains and torments,
    And for all eternity. [Refrain]
    3 By my sins I have abandoned
    Right and claim to Heav’n above,
    Where the saints rejoice forever,
    In a boundless sea of love. [Refrain]
    4 See our Savior, bleeding, dying,
    On the cross of Calvary;
    To that cross my sins have nailed Him,
    Yet He bleeds and dies for me.
