¡Y hemos llegado al Día 17 del Inktober!
¡Qué rápido! Al inicio pensé que no pasaría de la primera semana, pero ¡acá andamos!
Para hoy, tenemos a un personaje bastante particular en la lista de "Chicos Guapos y Hot de Anime / Videogames" : Zephon, personaje del videojuego Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver.
De este personaje no conocemos muchos detalles más allá de los que se muestran en Soul Reaver como vampiro y en Soul Reaver 2 como Sarafan.
En algunas partes se dice que Zephon fue el cuarto hijo de Kain, en otras, el quinto.
¿Cuál es la relevancia del número de su turno de nacimiento? Al Kain despertarlos a la vida de vampiros, compartía parte de su alma y poder para traerlos a la vida. A los primeros, les tocó mayor porción de ese poder, siendo el primero Raziel, el segundo Turel y el tercero, Dumah.
A los últimos, les tocó menor porción de ese don, siendo el último Melchiah, cuya debilidad se hacía evidente en que su piel no aguantaba estar "con vida" y tenía que usar la piel de otros muertos para repararse.
Zephon es de mente astuta y a través de los diálogos, se puede entender que sentía envidia y resentimiento al ver que Raziel era el favorito de Kain. "Ya no eres el hermoso Raziel", le dice al verlo convertido en su forma espectral.
Al igual que a sus hermanos, le tocó una porción de Nosgoth para construir ahí su clan y de esta forma asegurar que el poder de Kain se extendiera a todos los lugares de ese sitio. Su clan es llamado el Zephonim el cual está ubicado en la antigua Catedral Silenciosa, un lugar que fue construido por los humanos precisamente para salvarse de la plaga de los vampiros.
Zephon y los descendientes de su clan desarrollaron habilidades similares a las de las arañas: podían escalar muros y crear telarañas con las que envolvían a sus víctimas en especies de capullos para luego transformarlos en otros seres similares a ellos.
En la batalla donde se enfrenta a Raziel, se puede ver que ha mutado convirtiéndose en una especie de mantis gigante que está fijada en una habitación de la cual no puede salir porque no puede moverse.
Sinceramente, pienso que me habría gustado ver más de él durante la saga de Soul Reaver. Se veía como un personaje al que se le pudo haber sacado una buena historia.
En el sketch de hoy, quise dibujarlo con la actitud arrogante que muestra ante Raziel.

And we have reached Day 17 of Inktober!
How fast! At first, I thought I wouldn’t make it past the first week, but here we are!
For today, we have a rather particular character on the list of "Hot Anime / Videogame Guys": Zephon, a character from the video game Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
We don't know many details about this character beyond what is shown in Soul Reaver as a vampire and in Soul Reaver 2 as Sarafan.
In some places, it is said that Zephon was the fourth son of Kain, while in others, he is referred to as the fifth.
What is the relevance of the order of his birth? When Kain awakened them to the life of vampires, he shared part of his soul and power to bring them to life. The first ones received a larger portion of that power, with the first being Raziel, the second Turel, and the third, Dumah.
The last ones received a smaller portion of that gift, with the last being Melchiah, whose weakness became evident in that his skin could not endure being "alive," and he had to use the skin of other dead beings to repair himself.
Zephon is cunning, and through the dialogues, one can understand that he felt envy and resentment upon seeing that Raziel was Kain's favorite. "You are no longer the beautiful Raziel," he tells him upon seeing him transformed into his spectral form.
Like his brothers, he was given a portion of Nosgoth to build his clan there, ensuring that Kain's power spread to all corners of that land. His clan is called the Zephonim, which is located in the ancient Silent Cathedral, a place built by humans specifically to protect themselves from the vampire plague.
Zephon and the descendants of his clan developed abilities similar to those of spiders: they could climb walls and create webs with which they wrapped their victims in cocoons to later transform them into other beings similar to themselves.
In the battle where he confronts Raziel, it can be seen that he has mutated into a kind of giant mantis, fixed in a room from which he cannot escape because he cannot move.
Honestly, I think I would have liked to see more of him during the Soul Reaver saga. He seemed like a character that could have had a great story.
In today’s sketch, I wanted to draw him with the arrogant attitude he displays towards Raziel.
