LATEST HUNT FOR LARRY
Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for saturday, the 27th day of May, 2024. Today is marked as Children and youth day. It is only observed by students and pupils while workers in the civil service go about their normal businesses. Anyway, happy children's day celebration 🥳 🎉 to every child out there. Enjoy your day.
Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.
Larry begins his look at today in history from Russia. He finds out that on this day in 1703, Peter the Great founded St. Petersburg, which has been an important part of Russian history ever since. It is particularly well-known for having been the site of the 1917 revolutions and for having been a strongly fortified city during World War II.
From Russia, Larry goes to Italy. He finds out that on this day in 1993, a terrorist bomb went off in Florence, damaging a wing of the famous Uffizi Gallery.
From Italy, Larry goes to India. He finds out that on this day in 1964, Jawaharlal Nehru, the former prime minister of India and a key figure in the 1930s and 1940s Indian independence struggle, passed away in New Delhi.
From India, Larry goes to the events of the WWII. He finds out that on this day in 1941, the British navy sunk the German battleship Bismarck during World War II.
From the events of the WWII, Larry goes to the USA. He finds out that on this day in 1889, the American petrochemical firm South Penn Oil Co., subsequently Pennzoil Company, was founded in Pennsylvania.
Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from the Scandinavia. He finds out that on this day in 1660, Sweden and Denmark-Norway signed the Treaty of Copenhagen, which ended a generation of fighting between the two powers and helped to establish the modern borders of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
