Todays beer taste
I have had the honor of tasting coffee beer. Unfortunately, it is not the classic beer nor classic coffee.
The two are among my favourite drinks, but together it is a whole other level!
Opening and first thoughts
When I had opened it, and poured some in the somewhat alternative beer mug, I had to smell it before tasting.
The smell was quite good. Strong coffee mixed with a dark and a bit spicy beer.
First zip. Thinking it's okay, until the aftertaste hit me.
A weird, ground-like coffee taste.
Second zip. The aftertaste does not hit quite as hard because I knew what to expect. The regular taste is affected by the aftertaste from the first zip, so now it's a somewhat ground-like taste of a little spicy beer with coffee.
Third zip.
This is getting weird. A decent taste on the tongue, but as soon as it goes down, some strange taste which I can explain is experienced
Halfway through
This beer is not for me.
The concept is absolutely amazing, and I wished for this to be a great beer, but that wasn't the case.
All taste of coffee is gone and the beer taste is bitter, ground-like and it taste even worse when I burp 😂
Conclusion
This one, for me, is very simple. Just don't.
If you like dark, bitter beer and coffee made on too much grounded beans, then go ahead, you will love this beer 🍺
