The latest Splinterlands update, which took place on Tuesdays, ended up taking longer than usual, leaving many players apprehensive about what was to come. There were several improvements and additions in general, but I'm going to talk about the two that I consider to be the main ones.
The first was the addition of a new rule set, called Shades of Gray. When it is present, it allows only Neutral element monsters to be used. There will be no restriction on summoners, just the one that already occurs and prohibits the use of some of them in each battle.

I haven't played a game with this rule set yet, but it sounds pretty cool. Although this will further highlight the need to have a wide variety of cards at your disposal in order to win battles, I don't think it will have much of an effect on this, since decks with this element are the most popular because they can be used in any battle. But we must be careful, as there is the possibility of more than one limiting rule appearing in a battle, that is, one that reduces the number of options, which reinforces that we must know how to put together a good deck with an adequate number of cards.
And speaking of Neutral, the third Airdrop from the Rebellion card collection has been added to the game. Venka The Vile is of Legendary rarity, and for the cost of 7 mana points, you'll have extremely high offensive power for your team. Her attack is melee, but that's not a problem, as she has just introduced a new ability called Charge, which allows her to attack from any position on the field.
What's more, monsters without any kind of attack will disappear in her presence, as she deals double damage to them thanks to her Opress ability. And as if that wasn't enough, when she eliminates a card she can attack again, thanks to Trample.
Looking at all her abilities and attributes, you can see that she was developed to combat a very common combination I've seen in the Diamond and Champion leagues, which is to use the summoner Lily Shieldpaw and put a tanker who doesn't have any kind of attack in front of her. It is extremely efficient, as it forces all cards, except those with Scattershot, to attack the monster in front.

This could also make players think twice before doing this, and put a different type of tanker in front, such as those with attacks and also the ability Forcefield, which receive 1 point of damage only when attacked by a monster that has more than 5 attack. This favors cards like Arkemis The Bear, Djinn Oshannus and Mycelic Slipspawn.

Few cards have this ability, so I believe that the game team will be able to exploit it more, including avoiding the excessive use of monsters that reduce the opponent's attack, since it would be more advantageous to keep them at 5+ attack and receive only 1 point of damage, rather than reducing them to 4 or 3.

A mais recente atualização de Splinterlands, que ocorreu na terça feita, como de costume, acabou demorando mais do que o normal, o que deixou muitos jogadores apreensivos sobre o que viria de novo. Houveram diversas melhorias e adições em geral, porém vou falar das duas que considero as principais.
A primeira foi a adição de uma nova regra, denominada Shades of Gray. Quando ela se faz presente, permite o uso apenas de monstros do elemento Neutro. Não haverá restrição quanto aos invocadores, apenas a que já ocorre comumente e proíbe o uso de alguns deles a cada batalha.

Eu ainda não joguei nenhuma partida com essa regra, mas me parece bastante legal. Apesar disso evidenciar ainda mais a necessidade de ter uma grande variedade de cartas a disposição para poder vencer batalhas, acredito que ela não terá tanto efeito nisso, já que os decks desse elemento são os mais alugados por conta de poder utilizá-los em qualquer batalha. Mas devemos ficar atentos, pois como existe a possibilidade de aparecer mais de uma regra limitante em uma batalha, isto é, que diminui a quantidade de opções, isso reforça que devemos saber montar um bom deck e com uma quantidade adequada de cartas.
E por falar em Neutro, o terceiro Airdrop da coleção de cartas Rebellion foi adicionado ao jogo. Venka The Vile, é de raridade Lendária, e pelo custo de 7 pontos de mana, você terá um poder ofensivo extremamente alto para o seu time. Seu ataque é do tipo corpo a corpo, mas isso não é problema, pois ela acaba de introduzir ao jogo a mais nova habilidade, denominada Charge, que a permite atacar de qualquer posição em campo.
Além disso, monstros sem nenhum tipo de ataque irão desaparecer através de sua presença, pois ela causa o dobro de dano sobre eles, graças a habilidade Opress. E como se não bastasse, ao eliminar uma carta ela poderá atacar novamente, graças ao Trample.
Analisando todas as suas habilidades e atributos, é possível ver que ela foi desenvolvida para combater uma combinação muito comum que venho observado nas ligas Diamante e Champion, que é utilizar a invocadora Lily Shieldpaw e colocar um tanker que não possui nenhum tipo de ataque na frente. Ela é extremamente eficiente, pois força todas as cartas, com exceção das que possuem Scattershot, a atacarem o monstro que está na frente.

Isso poderá fazer também com que os jogadores pensem duas vezes antes de fazer isso, e colocar um tipo diferente de tanker na frente, como aqueles que possuem ataques e também a habilidade Forcefield, que recebem 1 ponto de dano apenas quando atacado por um monstro que possui mais de 5 de ataque. Isso favorece cartas como o Arkemis The Bear, Djinn Oshannus e Mycelic Slipspawn.

Poucas cartas detém de tal habilidade, por isso acredito que a equipe do jogo poderá explorá-la mais, evitando inclusive o uso excessivo de monstros que reduzem o ataque do adversário, já que seria mais vantajoso mantê-los com 5+ de ataque e receber apenas 1 ponto de dano, do que reduzir para 4 ou 3.
