I used to be judgemental of people using moulds in their craft. I felt that they are taking away the excitement of sculpting unique piece. But then, the market for handmade pieces, souvenirs, personalized merchandize boomed and I guess, sculpting them all from the start would really be challenging.
Making moulds allows the artist to mass produce their work easily, effortlessly. Not that I agree on it but then, I decided to make another step on my cupcakery business and here I am.
I can use the liquid silicon type- which is more accurate and used by professionals. But, I decided with the putty-clay. As it is easier, less toxic and does not require a lot of experience/ skills.

I still sculpted the pieces together and baked them.
Used this to measure accurately the proportions. 1:1 on my product. So in order for my silicon putty to work, I have to mix clay A with Clay b in equal parts. Accurate measurement is very important.
Knead the product and then, just insert the parts that you wanted to mould. The first one was the bottom of the cupcake and the other is the icing. Since I am always having a lot of drama with it.
Wait for it to cure and you'll have something that looks like the one above.
