Since the inception of social media,a new meaning was given to telecommunication devices. Phones now had a new assignment, which is to bridge FaceTime.

A person can now conveniently chat up another person in record time without breaking a sweat. Video calls are also a fun thing accessible via social media handles. It's a fun way to be part of another's live event without leaving the comforts of one's environment.

    Picking a side

It is well known that the majority of our actions are ruled by choice and choices are made because there is a variety of things to pick from. Our choices form our actions which graduates to forming our lifestyle. With this known, each of us find ourselves picking a side based on our chosen preference.

Would you rather choose a day without your phone or a day without food?

My close pals can confidently give a reply on my behalf because the answer is so obvious based on my choices. I would choose a day without my phone over and over again as against food. It is an easy pick.

I am a foodie, a beautiful foodie that refuses to add weight, @luchyl can testify😁. A day without food would be like a worst case punishment scenario for me except when I consent to abstaining from food due to some spiritual exercises but asides that, I doubt that anything can keep me from eating.

As for why I would boldly choose to be without my phone for a day.... it's because I can do life even without my phone. I can carry out other activities without a phone and I would do them faster too unlike when my phone is with me, which often serves as a distraction to my work.

For now I don't have many online platforms that serve me in remote work for passive income, so no working on the phone for too long. Any information I need can be forwarded via chats and I will get back to replying them once my phone fast is concluded.

The health benefits of phone fasting are numerous as I would have limited screen time, which helps my eye sight. Also my data subscription will be saved for that day and that sums up to less exposure to radiations for that day.

But a day without food and I will be needing medical attention. The health risks include stomach ulcers, low blood sugar level, headache, difficulty concentrating on my work, transfer of aggression send dizzy spells. All of which I wouldn't like to pass through.

My work is very tasking, hence it requires my tummy to be filled if I want to give my very best. As an educator, standing to teach students for about six hours out of the eight hours daily work time, marking numerous notebooks and textbooks and handling different projects with my students....all these demands a full tank and there's no excuse because I pack my food in a food flask and carry it with me to school.

Like I earlier stated, life is ruled by choices and if there was ever a time when I would have to pick a side between my phone and going without food, I would choose to give up my phone without missing a heartbeat.
