My run today might have been quite short at just 4 miles but it was a much harder effortas it was on the up and down narrow trails off of the Javelina Trail.
My legs weren't feeling too lively and the first mile was a slow jog at well over 11 minute pace but I'm less than a week off of my 24 hour race and my body is still recovering. Fortunately the next couple of miles were relatively easy as the surface was nice and it was mostly a welcome downhill. Of course, that meant a much tougher uphill mile that wound its way up through the forest before happily joining up with the wide and gentle Javelina Trail for the final stretch back.
Since Lynx Lake is so low I decided to head up to Granite Basin with Lulu for a couple of miles on the Metate Trail with a hike down to the lake.
Just lots of birds and a couple of squirrels for company on the trail.
