Lessons from the past 100 weeks

It's crazy how time flies without you even realizing it. I still remember when my posts had tags like hl-wk20e3 but now it's 5 times of that and we are already 100 weeks into the Hive Learners featured edition contests. The past 100 weeks have been great and of course, I have learned a lot of things both about Hive and life in general. The beauty of these featured contents is that you get to read the experiences and perspectives of different people and learn a thing or two from them.

These weekly contents have been a lifesaver. I have totally integrated them into my daily routine and even when I miss some days without posting in other communities, I always make sure I write on the 3 prompts released every week. It's not just that a topic is given every 2 days, but a good description accompanies them as well which makes things a lot easier. I no longer worry about writer's block, what more could I ask for? Even at that, I have made a lot of mistakes over the years but the good is that I always learn from them, rather than giving up

    The mistakes?

Don't even get me started on this one, I'm sure I would be able to fill up this post with only the mistakes I have made on the blockchain. Where should I even start from? I didn't have anybody holding my hands when I joined and I had to learn most things on my own, which means I made a lot of mistakes but thanks to some good-hearted people who pointed me in the right direction. The first and most notorious mistake I made was constantly posting to the wrong communities. The misconception I had then was that I just had to post in communities that give lots of upvotes, so I could have high upvotes too, no matter what I'm posting 😅

This also meant that I abused tags a lot. I got several warnings from folks in leofinance before I stopped including their tags in all my posts 😂 OCD mods also gave me guidelines on picking the right communities and using the right tags. Another mistake I made was in Hive learners weekly featured contents. When I joined the community for the first time, I didn't even know about the rules of the featured contents. I just saw people writing about a certain topic and I joined them as well without including the necessary tags or even submitting my post to the discord group.

It was weeks later before I saw one of the posts announcing the week's edition topic. I realized I had been going about it the wrong one and since then, I have always been paying attention to the rules. One more mistake which I rarely mention is that I used to plagiarise a lot back when I joined. I just take a post from a random website, post it and include a “source”. I was under the impression that as long as I added where I got the post from, then I was good to go. It was later that I discovered that doing it that way was also illegal since I never got the permission of the owner.

But honestly, the journey has been amazing. I have grown over the years and gotten to the stage where I have become comfortable with the platform. I have managed to grow my Hive Power to the stage where I can delegate to others without getting affected, unlike the first time I joined and had to wait for my resource credits to fill up for over 2 or 3 days before I could continue interacting on Hive 😅. Damn! The struggle was real but I'm very happy with where I am today and Hive learners had a big role to play in that.
