Happy day sewing friends, I hope you are very well enjoying your weekend. Sewing today has been for many a great advantage in terms of transformation and confection of some garment. Blessed are all of us who can make our own clothes and for others as well, thanks to the knowledge and practice in sewing, since we are always inquiring, improving each piece, when sewing.
Today I want to share with you a transformation of a woman's shirt into a girl's dress.
My friend, who has a 6 year old granddaughter, was looking for this shirt that she no longer wears, but she didn't want to throw it away either, so she wanted me to transform it into a simple dress, but at the same time practical and comfortable for the little girl.
Besides, the fabric is very soft and fresh, and the checkered print looks great. I had the advantage that this shirt already has a ruffle on the front, which made it easier for me to make this modification in less time.
So here I show you how I did it in simple steps.

La costura hoy en día ha sido para muchos una gran ventaja en cuanto a transformación y confección de alguna prenda de vestir. Dichosos todos los que podemos hacer nuestras propias ropa y para otros también, gracias al conocimiento y practica en las costuras, ya que siempre estamos indagando, mejorando cada pieza, al coser.
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una transformación de una camisa de mujer, para convertirla en un vestido para niña.
Mi amiga, que tiene su nieta, de 6 años de edad, busco esta camisa que ya no usa, pero tampoco quería botarla, y mejor quiso que se la transformara en un vestido sencillo, pero que al mismo tiempo sea práctico y cómodo para la niña.
Además la tela es muy suave y fresca, y el estampado de cuadro luce muy bien. Tuve la ventaja de que ya esta camisa tiene un arruchado en la parte del frente, lo cual se me hizo más fácil hacer dicha modificación en menos tiempo.
Asi que aquí les muestro como lo hice en sencillos pasos.

Plaid shirt.
Size 6.
Measuring tape, pins, thread.
Sewing machine.
Mis materiales:
Camisa de cuadros.
Medidas talla 6.
Cinta metrica, alfileres, hilo.
Máquina de coser.
With another measurement, I took the shape of the dress at once, cutting the armhole for the sleeves, and the shape of the neckline. I also cut a little bit on the sides only in the waist part, that is to say the top part, because from the waist down I left it the same, to leave it wide like a skirt.
Con otra medida, saque la forma del vestido de una vez, cortando la sisa para las mangas, y la forma del cuello. Tambien recorte un poco a los lados solamente en la parte del talle, es decir la parte de arriba, porque de la cintura hacia abajo lo deje igual, para dejarla ancha como una falda.

I also made some small sleeves, which I made some ruches, and the sleeves had more volume.
Tambien hice unas mangas pequeñas, la cual les hice unos ruches, y quedara las mangas con más volumen.
After gluing the sleeves, leaving the armhole a little uncovered at the bottom, then I put the bias around the edge of the neck, placing a few long strips to also make a bow as an ornament.
Luego de pegar las mangas dejando un poco descubierto la sisa en la parte debajo, luego le coloque el sesgo por todo el borde del cuello, colocando unas tiras largas para que también se haga un lazo como adorno.
For the back, I sewed some long strips that I put on the sides, these will also serve to adjust the waist with a bow at the time of putting it on.
It was not necessary to make the hem, since I cut it with the same measure of the length of the shirt, and I left it the same in the part of the buttons, because the idea was to keep a part of the original design.
Para la parte de la espalda, cosí unas tiras largas que se las puse a los lados, estas servirán de ajustar a su cintura también con un lazo en el momento de ponérselo.
No fue necesario hacerle el ruedo, ya que al cortarlo lo hice con la misma medida del largo de la camisa, y lo deje igual en la parte de los botones, porque la idea era que conservara una parte del diseño original.
This is how this cute casual dress for the little girl turned out, the truth is that her grandmother told me that it was very nice, and she liked it very much. Girls like dresses that have that wide skirt, well not all of them.
Asi quedó este lindo vestido muy casual para la niña, la verdad que su abuela me dijo que le quedó muy lindo, y a ella le gustó mucho. A las niñas le gustan muchos los vestidos que tengan esa falda ancha, bueno no a todas.
