The poor wonders the godfather of the human soul

In the novel The Poor People, Dostoyevsky, the godfather of the human soul, wonders through the character “Makar Devushkin”: Why do good and noble souls always live in misery and abandonment?
The founder of authoritarian rule, Nicola Machiavelli, responded to him in his book The Prince, saying:
“There is no doubt that sadness and grief will befall those who want to practice kindness and goodness in everything... as they will see that the people around them are not good.”
As for the sheikh of realistic literature writers, he says:
Be kind, and don't try to tell anyone that you are good
He who has a wide conscience and deep feelings must suffer.
With a different philosophical outlook, Nietzsche intervenes, saying:
I always laughed at the weak ones, who think they are good because they have no claws
However, Dostoyevsky, the groom of the human soul, returns to end the dialogue by saying:
Gentlemen, those with good intentions win in the end, no matter how many losses they suffer.
