The Flower With No Petals
Would a petal-less flower be held liable for withering too soon? Is she responsible for the soil it grows on and how dry it has been throughout Spring?
You can look at its stalk and judge. You can blame it, point your finger, but would that solve anything?
If you get new seeds and plant them into the same earth, no new colours would bloom. So it's time to let go of your laser focus on the outcome and start to look at the process. At what you could do better next time. Or this time.
Would a little rain save this meadow? Is there hope if we let go of all our resentment and fear. It's one of those things in life that you can't really know until you try.
But we can be certain of those dead-ends that some roads lead to. Like blaming the flower for not growing what it should've grown into it. All promises have conditions, and we can lost in the word play and finding whom to be angry with; or we can choose to not be angry and find a way to move on.
FreeWrite Prompt
Thank you to @daily.prompt for the "the end of the contract" prompt. I enjoyed this freewrite, after months of not writing.
I often feel frustrated with not having a way to write and share content. Most of the writing is 'unpublishable', and when published, unread.
The disconnection I felt made me feel quite restricted in writing because it feels pointless. I'm not creatively blocked, but I am emotionally! I'll be doing my best to join more freewrites and let myself enjoy this process.
