My dog is old, we adopted him when I was a kid so we don’t know his age exactly, I think he is around 15 to 17
He is struggling yo stand up and barely moves, he barely eats and drinks water….
We will take him to the veterinarian today but we have done it recently, he recommended some tastier and healthier foods and we have been trying to feed him but he eats and drinks very little
I cried a little bit today because I considered the possibility that our time together may be coming to an end
He was my first and only dog, as a kid, teenager and adult I have moved around, made and lost some friends but he has always been with me. He has been showing signs of age in the way he behaves, but in the past 1 month his physical capabilities have gotten worse too fast.
I feel powerless, I am very sad. I still hope the doctor prescribes some medicine that will make him better and possibly get us some more quality time together, but looking at him I can see how time has not been gebtle with my dog… I can feel my eyes getting wet again writing this, I don’t know what to do
