Hello my dear lovers of good movies and television! June and July have come loaded with premieres, both in the cinema, as in the different streaming platforms, as is the case of Netflix, which eventually gives us some surprises, and although lately little manages to excite or surprise me some film production, some manage to get a smile out of me, as is the case of the latest romantic comedy that Netflix has released, A Family Affair, starring Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman and Joey Kind, and with a gem of cinema such as Kathy Bates, who offer us a fresh romantic comedy, capable of getting some genuine laughs.
A Family Affair, tells the story of young Zara (Joey Kind), who works as assistant to Chris Cole (Zac Efron), a successful film actor, who has been pigeonholed in the same role for a long time and so Zara wants, in her desire to become a film producer, to make this get to act in other roles, and that he does not want to leave his comfort zone, not allowed to see beyond, who is also self-centered, selfish and rude, who lives humiliating Zara, to the point of taking her to the point of quitting her job to not continue putting up with his follies and outbursts, so Chris ends up looking for Zara at home, where he runs into Brooke (Nikole Kidman), while she was cleaning her house, thus confusing her with the servants, but when he sees her again after a bath, he is dazzled.
A connection arises between Chris and Brooke almost immediately, so they end up, after a few drinks, in bed, being discovered by Zara, who lashes out at them and asks them not to see each other anymore, returns to work with Chris, after he offers her a better job, without realizing that this will give rise to a clandestine romance between his mother and his boss, bringing up a common theme, as it is, the selfishness in which some children can fall and that can cause much damage to parents, who sometimes end up leaving aside their happiness for their children. Another topic that is touched on is the age difference between couples, a taboo topic even today, where it is usually seen badly, the fact that the woman is the one who takes some years of difference to the man, as is the case of Brooke, who takes a little more than 20 years of difference to Chris, but we all know, it is not noticed hahaha.
There is also a kind of rivalry between Zara and Chris, which ends up bringing out the worst in Zara, making her mother and her boss suffer a little for the love that emerges between them, it is a film that had more plot to exploit, but that leaves a good taste in our mouths, and generates that restlessness to know what continues to happen after it ends, a fresh touch for this time of the year, with a reflective touch for many selfish sons and many women who believe that after a certain age they can not find that beautiful love, so, let's say, it is a hopeful movie for many hahaha, although you will not always get a mature Zac Efron to fall in love.
In terms of scenery, being a film where we talk about the life of an actor, the truth is that we are not shown much to fall in love with, in terms of this topic, however, we are shown some outdoor locations, which refresh the plot a little, the fake snow actually hated it hahaha, it looked too fake even for Netflix, but overall it is a film that I recommend to see a Sunday afternoon with family, eye, contains some scenes that although not show nudity, are somewhat explicit for the smallest of the house. My rating for this film is a 7/10.

¡Hola mis queridos amantes del buen cine y la televisión! Junio y Julio han llegado cargados de estrenos, tanto en el cine, como en las diferentes plataformas de streaming, como es el caso de Netflix, que eventualmente nos regala algunas sorpresas, y aunque últimamente poco logra emocionarme o sorprenderme alguna producción cinematográfica, algunas logran sacarme una sonrisa, como es el caso de la última comedia romántica que ha estrenado Netflix, Un Asunto Familiar, titulo en español para, A Family Affair, protagonizada por Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman y Joey Kind, y con una joya del cine como lo es Kathy Bates, que nos ofrecen una comedia romántica fresca, capaz de sacar algunas risas genuinas.
Un Asunto Familiar, nos relata en principio la historia de la joven Zara (Joey Kind), quien trabaja como asistente de Chris Cole (Zac Efron), un exitoso actor de cine, que se ha visto encasillado en un mismo papel durante un largo tiempo y por lo que Zara desea, en su afán de convertirse en productora cinematográfica, hacer que este logre actuar en otros papeles, y que este por no querer salir de su zona de confort, no se permite ver más allá, quien además es egocéntrico, egoísta y descortés, que vive humillando a Zara, hasta llevarla al punto de renunciar a su trabajo para no continuar aguantando sus locuras y arranques, por lo que Chris termina buscando a Zara en su casa, donde se topa con Brooke (Nikole Kidman), mientras esta limpiaba su casa, confundiéndola así con la servidumbre, pero que al verla nuevamente luego de un baño, lo deja deslumbrado.
Surge entre Chris y Brooke, una conexión casi de inmediato, por lo que terminan, luego de algunas copas, en la cama, siendo descubiertos por Zara, quien arremete contra ellos y les pide que no se vean más, regresa a trabajar con Chris, luego de que este le ofrezca un mejor puesto de trabajo, sin darse cuenta de que esto dará origen a un romance clandestino entre su madre y su jefe, trayendo a colación un tema bastante común, como lo es, el yoismo en el que pueden caer algunos hijos y que puede llegar a causar mucho daño en los padres, que en ocasiones terminan dejando de lado su felicidad por la de sus hijos. Otro de los temas que se toca es el de la diferencia de edades entre las parejas, tema tabú aun a la fecha, en donde se suele ver mal, el hecho de que la mujer sea quien le lleve algunos años de diferencia al hombre, como es el caso de Brooke, quien le lleva poco más de 20 años de diferencia a Chris, pero que todos sabemos, no se le nota jajaja.
Surge además una especie de rivalidad entre Zara y Chris, que termina sacando lo peor de Zara, haciendo que su madre y su jefe sufran un poco por el amor que aflora entre ellos, es una película que tenía más trama por explotar, pero que nos deja un buen sabor de boca, y genera esa inquietud por saber que continua sucediendo después que finaliza, un toque fresco para esta época del año, con un toque reflexivo para muchos hijos egoístas y muchas mujeres que creen que después de cierta edad no pueden encontrar ese amor bonito, así que, digamos, es una película esperanzadora para muchas jajaja, aunque no siempre te conseguirás un Zac Efron madurito que te enamore.
En cuanto a escenografía, por tratarse de una película en donde se habla de la vida de un actor, la verdad es que no nos muestran mucho de que enamorarnos, en cuanto a este tema, sin embargo, nos muestran algunas locaciones exteriores, que refrescan un poco la trama, la nieve falsa en realidad la odie jajaja, se veía demasiado falsa incluso para Netflix, pero en líneas generales es una película que recomiendo para ver un domingo por la tarde en familia, ojo, contiene algunas escenas que aunque no muestran desnudos, son algo explicitas para los más pequeños de la casa. Mi valoración para esta cinta es de un 7/10.
