Scenes from a Walk in Danville Park.

Danville Park is a beautiful nature reserve in the Durban North Area, close to the Virginia Airport, on the east coast of South Africa.

According to a notice board outside the park, Danville Park is part of a secondary coastal dune forest that has been disturbed and is now in the process of regeneration.

Even though we often pass through this area, we were unaware of the park.

But my daughter recently told us about it, as she went with a group on an organized hike following one of the hiking trails through the park.

Although we didn't have much time last weekend, we passed through the area again and decided to see if we could at least find the park.

It soon became clear why we never knew about this beautiful spot, as it is kind of hidden away if you just pass through the area and it is not visible from the main route.

But, we found it and decided to get out of the car and just scan out the area to get an idea of what it was like.

Just outside the park, just before you enter the park, there is a little stream. Although there is no need to cross the stream of water, I can imagine this log would create a lot of fun for the kids to test their balancing skills to cross over the water...lol.

We didn't have to walk far before we got to this beautiful little pond.

Following this little foot path, you can walk around the pond.

    Another view of the pond...

Due to a lack of time, we didn't complete the circle around the pond but decided to do more scanning into the park.

My last photo for today shows a typical scene of what we saw.

And that's it for today, folks. This was only a small area at the beginning stages of various trails that can be done. It definitely gave me an appetite to go back to see more (and I hope you feel the same way...lol).
