CUT FROM SAME CLOTH

If the prompt had gone ahead to ask about which parent we thought we resembled based off on physical features, I may just have found myself in a fix.

Today I get the, "You look like your dad, except for your complexion." Tomorrow it's, "anybody that sees you has seen your mum." The next time, it's that I look more like a sibling or a cousin or a relative. Can be quite confusing
Using my own eyes to look in the mirror to be sure for self, I can say that I look like none of them and yet I look like everyone of them.

I like to call my parents twins. They do similar things a lot of times that I have grown to notice. It's not even so easy to tell if these character traits were inborn or developed as they exhibit them highly.

Even for the traits which I believe I got from them which I would share below, they both possess them, with one being more dominant and overly pronounced in each person than the other.

    ...........................................................................

So, I'll start with my mom. To a large degree, I believe I got the cleanliness trait from her. My mom's the kind of person who cannot exist where there is dirt. Especially where it concerns her immediate environment. She's the type who's always picking at almost non-existent grass. She's just an exceptionally tidy human and it doesn't end at that as she's generally someone who just likes to keep busy. And overtime, I have written of how keeping clean is not just a routine chore for me but a lifestyle. I could almost tolerate everything e)se but definitely not uncleanliness. It's a flex.

Then there's my dad. When I was much younger, i stumbled upon of my dad's notepads in which he wrote down important, and in my opinion, some not-too-important details. Details like names, bank details, phone numbers, dates as the exact day he married my mom and the expenses made, dates every child of his was born and the details surrounding it, etc. Even for properties he got from years back which I want to think he received no receipt, he has the item, spec, date, store address and amount written out and signed in his note.
    ...........................................................................
Actually my father is a writer. Not a published one though, you get what I mean. He has a beautiful handwriting too. My dad does not ever miss out on putting down information. He's got a big case(maybe two, even three) filled with notepads containing information from when he was a youth. Letters, receipts, tellers, bank statement, records, cards, chequebooks and a host of that. I kid you not. All of them dated. And i got that a hundred and one percent.

I'm always scribbling something. Not just articles but every important detail. I have my journals, many of them, from when I was only a child. I also have letters and receipts and cards and documents and all of that. Even my random musings generally from long time stay backed up and with dates attached. I can always look at any of mine and tell you about that time of my life and what life was like.

In addition to being good at penning down stuff, he and my mum are great at documenting and safekeeping items. My dad has so many of his architectural drawings from over 35years ago. They have so so so many items that go way back. I used to wonder why they always dragged those things around with them but I understand better now. Because, I too, would hold onto a lot of things from when I was younger and even as I age until whenever (or even forever).
    ...........................................................................
I even realized that although I complained of how my mum always wants to double check through stuff - especially when I do some deep cleaning of the house - to see that I don't throw out important papers which in my opinion are insignificant, I am a lot like her. Like herself and her twin, my dad. They can be very thorough.

I recall writing on here about my dad telling me that a carton of milk was sold for #30 in the times past and a couple of people were in awe. Well, he showed me buying list he wrote plus receipts to back that up. Telling doesn't always cut it.
I can also compare scenarios. In addition to mental pictures, there's the physical ones, so you can say that I am armed for years to come. There's evidences to share my story with.
And I like that for/about me. And would love that for anyonebSincerely.

When I go through my stuff, I laugh at the kinds of things I have there and have accept that well, we're cut from same cloth. Thinking about it now, I realize that a couple of my siblings also have similar trait, so you see?
