It all started with a casual scroll through my phone and boom I saw it. A hilariously drawn frog like creature, looking all confident with a caption that cracked me up instantly "Me chase you, Goodness and mercy self I no chase, na dem dey follow me."
That line alone had me in stitches, but something about the image stuck with me. The simplicity, the bold expression it felt like it was calling me to do something more with it.
And that’s when the idea hit me. What if I painted it.
Now, I wouldn’t call myself a professional artist , but I’ve recently developed a keen interest in painting. So, I took up the challenge, grabbed my tools and started working. At first, it felt like a joke, but as I blended colors and added texture, I realized I was actually improving my technique. The original black and white sketch transformed into something vibrant, with warm tones and depth yet it still carried that same goofy charm By the time I was done, I couldn’t stop grinning. What started as a joke had turned into an artistic milestone for me. Maybe this is how all great artists start one funny meme at a time.
Who knows, maybe next, I’ll paint another viral sensation.
