Prelude
Welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. With Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards coming live, there is an increased of Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards seen, so as I've started to review the reward cards for this particular post series, let's continue to look at 2 more of the Soul Bound reward cards.
So far, from the Soul Bound cards that I've gathered thus far, all of them have been serving me well. You can check out my profile and look at the latest brawl report that I've shared yesterday to see them in action.
Rebellion Soul Bound Reward Cards
I did not do new pulls these few days as I am still trying to accumulate more Glint before doing pulls on chest. Maybe when end of season I will attempt a bigger pull based on the Glint I have.
Let's continue from last week where we reviewed 1 common and 1 legendary from the water and fire splinter respectively, today we look at a rare card from and also a epic card from water.
Razorhound
First up is the Razorhound. While it didn't appear to be a card with good stats, the strengthen actually brings additional margin to the whole lineup with an additional health. As this card levels up, it gains even true strike and also void which will add on to its value. To me, value wise there will be better options in water splinter but when it comes to range only ruleset, this card immediately transform into a gem as it brings value to the whole lineup more by giving more survivability which is much needed in such a ruleset. When magic gets reflect, this will also be a good card to stand in for Venari Wavesmith. For odd mana match, this is good too.
So essentially this card might potentially be a super sub rather than an outright first choice.
Shock Trooper
Next up is Shock Trooper. A very interesting card that carries the unique abilities that came with the release of these Soul Bound reward cards. The ability is called electrified and it does 1 damage to all ally unit each turn from round 2 onwards. Wow, a self destructing card that sabotage the whole lineup? Maybe we just need to end things quickly to maximize the capability of this card. If we look at the attack stats of this card, for just 4 mana, you get a 4 magic attack card, and this is why you have to bear some penalty for this good deal. However, if you do have cards with Void, comboing with this card will be amazing and have great value. I would also think this card will be good for fast matches since the longer it drags the more painful it is for own lineup. Haven't get to use this card before but I do see some good results from the opponents I faced.
Assessment
I would say Shock Trooper is a card to watch with potentially good result and at higher level will be even better than at base level while Razorhound probably will become a filler instead of a key card. But generally the Rebellion reward set does bring to the collection some really good cards for us to pick from into our lineups and definitely worth experimenting to fight the right fit into the various lineup for maximum efficiency. Shock Trooper gets a 3.5/5 and Razorhound gets a 2.3/5.
Wrap Up
I do think there are definitely nice and useful cards out of the pool of Soul Bound reward cards added. So let's continue to battle, clock more Glint, then start putting the cards into greater utility be it in ranked or even during brawl. I will continue to research and look at the others card and will share another 2 cards in the next post.
