Today I brought a battle, where I had to defeat one of the strongest monster in the whole Splinterlands universe and that is Quora Towershead. She is strong, because she has two different type attack, but more importantly she has the Bloodlust ability, so if she kills a monster she will increase all of her stats by one permanently. π
Hope you will enjoy the battle like I did! π
Ruleset | Description |
---|---|
Armored Up | All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat. |
Ferocity | All units have the Fury ability. |
The mana cap was 35, which is not that much, so it is important to choose few key monsters and few small ones to support the big ones. The Armored Up ruleset will provide +2 Armor to all the monsters on the battlefield, so it might be worth considering to use Magic attack monsters, because they will easily ignore that Armor with their attack.
The Ferocity ruleset is not a big deal to ignore, because it means that if someone uses a monster with the Taunt ability than all the other monsters will deal double damage against it, so better not to use any monster with the Taunt ability. π€©
Alric Stormbringer
Alric Stormbringer is an excellent Summoner from the Water Splinter who cost only three mana and he increases the Magic damage by one to all of his friendly monsters, which is the strongest attack type in the game. π
Djinn Oshannus
The Djinn Oshannus is one of the best off tank in this game and most of the time I use him in the second position of my lineup, but this time he was my tank. He is well protected against the Magic attack monsters thanks to his Void ability and he has decent amount of Health as well. π
Venari Wavesmith
The Venari Wavesmith is an old timer, because that was the first card I ever bought when I started playing Splinterlands long time ago. He cost only 5 mana and doesn't have too much damage, but his ability to provide +2 Armor to his allies makes him truly special. π
Ruler of the Seas
The Ruler of the Seas is one of the best damage dealer in the Water Splinter especially if you use him with Alric who also gives him +1 Magic attack damage. He also has the Blast ability, which will makes him an amazing damage dealer, because he will damage the adjacent monsters of his target as well. πͺ
Riverboat Captain
I used the Riverboat Captain as a Magic attack damage dealer, so he will hit his target under their armor. He also has the Blast ability, so he will damage all the adjacent monsters of his target. He has +2 Magic attack from level one, which will be further boosted by Alric with one. π
Musa Saline
The Musa Saline cost only three mana and that was my main reason choosing her. She also has one Magic attack as well, so she is a very affordable mini damage dealer who will increase her own Health after a monster dies in this battle. π
Crustacean King
The Crustacean King cost only three mana, so it is a no brainer to use him, because he also has the Heal ability, so he will restore some of the lost Health of the monster in his first position. π
My opponent brought Helios Matriarch who is a Dragon Summoner, so she will be able to use any kind of Dragon monster. She also gives +1 Speed to his monsters, but more importantly she will be able to use one additional Gladiator card in her lineup. π€©
My opponent used a low budget "tank" with quite high Speed, but my Magic attack monsters managed to kill him quickly using their attack. The extra Armor on my monsters helped a lot to my Crustacean King to survive the incoming double strike from their Infiltrator, but their Armor was useless against our Magic attacks, so in the beginning of the second round my monsters killed their off tank as well, so their Quora became their tank.
In the second round both of our real tanks took a lot of damage, but luckily I used two monster with the Blast damage, so even though they couldn't deal enough damage to kill their tank they indirectly killed their Dhampir Infiltrator who was the monster behind her.
Quora was quite strong at their front especially, because they also had two other support monster with the Heal ability, so without any Blast damage my team simply wouldn't have enough damage to kill her.
However I had my monsters with the Blast daamge, so they were able to kill their first Healer in the third round, while my only one Healer was trying to keep my Oshannus alive.
In the fourth round the Heal was not enough for their tank to mitiagte all the incoming damage and my team succesfully killed their last two monsters and won the battle for me. π
