For me as a woman, what I find most admirable in a man is his ability to shower his partner with care, love, and deep respect. Men who genuinely appreciate and have faith in their wives or girlfriends, without constantly questioning and doubting their every action - those are the real keepers. They are rare gems in this world.
They are the men who put their family first and do everything to ensure their wife and children are okay, happy and comfortable. They have a genuine interest in the best interests of their household. This is how a man should treat his woman and children, right?
Too often, we see men who think that to be a "man" means to control and dominate over their wife. As if they are the owner and commander of the house. Smh, that kind of mentality is very wrong!
Regardless of gender, all people inherently deserve to be treated with dignity and respect as equals. The simple fact that a man and woman are married does not give the husband any justification to act disrespectfully or abusively toward his wife in any manner. Husbands who truly understand what marriage means recognize their spouse as an equal partner in life, not merely an owned possession.
Any man humble enough to listen to his wife's views and opinions, consider her needs and factor them into decisions that concern the whole family, those are the real MVPs. Respecting your woman's opinions and giving her a voice won't diminish you as the man of the house.
In fact, valuing your wife's insight will only strengthen your bond, love and partnership because it shows you are moving as a team. If decisions favor everyone's interests, not only will the man be happy, but the wife will also maintain joy and respect for the marriage too.
What kind of happiness will a woman have if she just has to fear and obey her husband's commands like a slave? How will your love and intimacy grow if the woman is always skeptical of every move and decision the man makes?
Only when a husband and wife understand, trust and are on the same page as partners will there be real unity, support and family progress. Controlling behavior towards the woman won't benefit anyone in the end.
Smart men will understand that a happy wife means a happy home and happy life. It has a multiplier effect on everything - the joy, peace of mind and positive energy will naturally pour into how the children are raised too. The family will just be happy and it's blessings upon blessings!
Another amazing attribute of the men who deserve a real queen for a wife is when they openly show love, care and affection in public. Not to engage in uncouth behavior, but to at least hold their woman's hand, hug her, kiss her forehead sometimes for everyone to see.
To openly appreciate and be proud of your wife's physical beauty, character and strength is very important too. Women want to feel cherished and special by their man. Simple little things like love notes, surprises or just finding a compliment for her are deeply motivating.
This kind of love is priceless and is the fuel a wife will need to endure the hard times when struggles inevitably come. Feeling adored will renew her dedication to maintaining the marriage and family too.
For many Nigerian men, shame and insecurity sometimes prevent them from openly expressing their full affection and devotion to their wives. Perhaps it's a pride issue or to maintain the appearance of strength. But there's nothing wrong with being soft and tender sometimes too. It's not just women who will value such gestures, men need it too!
Moving on, any man whose wife has given birth to a child is an MVP once he maintains being a committed, responsible father and best friend to his woman and children. It takes great character for such a man to value his wife's new role and support her through it.
