However, on the 26th one, I have decided that it is big enough to call this series a Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
In this series, I will review one unit at a time, picking them randomly.
So let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:
Adeptus Custodes, Trajann Valoris
10th Edition Index Cards
Trajann Valoris is the Captain-General of the 10,000 - the Custodians of the Emperor of Mankind. He is the big boss of the Golden banana boys... and this is his datasheet from the Index which is soon to be overwritten by the new Adeptus Custodes Codex.
Also, it is the 40th 40k Warhammer Review Library post so I took the time to try to formulate the past reviews into a table format!
Let's get into Trajann's stats and then we can all go admire my tables...
Stats
Movement 6"
Toughness 6
Save 2+/4++/5+++ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 7
Ld 5+
OC 2
Thus a really tough character!
Weapons
Ranged:
Watcher’s Axe
2x Attacks at 24", Hitting on 2+ Strength 5, AP-2 and 3 Damage a pop.
This gun is capable of downing a Terminator with a single shot!
Melee:
Watcher’s Axe
6 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, Strength 10, AP-2, Damage 3
This can kill half a squad of Space Marines or several Terminators in one go.
Abilities
Captain-General
Trajann and his unit ignore modifiers to characteristics. So when someone else has a rule that confers negative alteration, he ignores them!
And it is "can ignore" so that means if a alteration is positive you can choose to allow it.
Moment Shackle
Once per game at the start of the Fight phase you can choose to use this ability.
You then choose one of the following to happen:
- Trajann and his unit get the Fights First ability
- Trajann gets 12 Attacks with his Watcher's Axe
- Trajann gets a 2+ invulnerable save
This is of course a massively strong ability. Using it at the right time and the right ability of the three is the thing that will make the Moment Shackle heavily influence the course of the battle!
All in all, Trajann is amazing. Like all Characters of his level, he is amazing on his own and he brings a lot to his army.
The Custodes are super elites and must be careful about putting too many points into one unit at a time.
