Landscape photos are often associated with their beautiful colors. And there's a reason for that.

However, black and white landscapes have a completely different atmosphere despite being the same image.

I believe there are photos that are meant to be in black and white, in color, or both.

The landscape photography of Ansel Adams is a reference when I'm in a natural setting.

Nature photography is one of my favorites after documentary photography, although technically, documentary photography should cover everything, including landscapes, right?

Well, this is not the post to answer such a question.

But rather to talk about black and white landscapes.

Some of the photos are not strictly landscapes, but I include them because they are part of the same trip I took.

Why do I say there are photos strictly in black and white?

Well, in my humble opinion, it varies according to the elements of the composition, such as volume, texture, contrast, and of course what is seen in the scene.

I know it's very ambiguous, but it's something I perceive when composing.

Not everything has to be bright and vivid colors.

Nor does black and white have to be somber.

It is what it is.

Las fotos de paisaje suelen asociarse a sus hermosos colores. Y hay razón para hacerlo.

Sin embargo, los paisajes en blanco y negro tienen una atmósfera totalmente distinta pese a ser la misma imagen.

Considero que hay fotos que están hechas para ser en blanco y negro, a color o a ambas.

El paisajismo del fotógrafo Ansel Adams es una referencia cuando estoy en un entorno natural.

La fotografía de naturaleza es una de mis favoritas después de la documental, aunque técnicamente la documental debería abarcar todo, incluyendo el paisajismo, ¿no?

Bueno, esta no es la publicación para responder semejante pregunta.

Sino para hablar del paisajismo en blanco y negro.

Algunas de las fotos no son netamente paisajes, pero las incluyo porque forman parte del mismo viaje que hice.

¿Por qué digo que hay fotos netamente en blanco y negro?

Bueno, en mi humilde opinión, varía de acuerdo a los elementos de la composición como el volumen, la textura, el contraste y, por supuesto, lo que se ve en la escena.

Sé que es muy ambiguo, pero es algo que percibo al momento de componer.

No todo debe ser colores vistosos y vividos.

Tampoco el blanco y negro debe ser algo sombrío.

Es lo que es.
