Today i want to share with you all the steps i used in making this skirt for my friend
My Twinnie as i usually call her is my body and height size, we met while i was in middle school and since then we've been a pair and were also referred to as twin sisters by those who do not know her
I made this skirt for her as she's demanded for a long while but since I've been quite busy i kept postponing the sewing although she brought a material for me since and asked me to sew for her so we could twin up with same outfit. I was lucky to have a lot of free periods within the week so i settled on making this skirt for her one of these days
These are the steps i used in making the skirt;
Since her measurements were same as mine i used my measurements to sew it
Firstly, i folded my material into two and marked my waist, hips and then my length measurement on the folded material and this gave me the front side of my skirt
I then cut the front side out and folded my material again and placed the front side on it and added two inches for zipper and the cut it out to get my back side
After getting both sides i then placed them on my lining and cut it out and then turned both sides with the lining i had cut out and turned the lining to fit it properly
The next step was adding dart to the skirt, i marked the front and back dart and held it properly using one inch for it
After adding the dart to the skirt, i then picked both parts of the skirt and joined them together after which i cut out my waist band and attached it too to the skirt
The final step was to attach the zipper , this has been one of my most difficult process during sewing because this zip using curves after putting it and I'll have to loose it over and over again but this time luckily for me, i inserted the zip just once and got it correctly, i was so excited
This is the outlook of the skirt
It fitted me so well because i was the same size as my friend, i hope she'll love the skirt
