What's going on fellow bot lovers and bot haters? I wouldn't say I like bots, but since they are allowed in the Wild format of the game I decided I couldn't beat em' so I'd join em' and run a SplinterMate bot to play in case I get bored and forget to play for a few days. You earn a lot more Glint and SPS by playing in Guilds and the Modern League, but it's also cool to earn in your sleep or when you're away from your device. I like earning Glint quickly so I can open new reward cards so I let the bot play in Wild and I'll play in the Modern League where the better rewards are. If I help the bot out we can make it to the Champion League, but the bot usually isn't smart enough to make it that far on its own. The bot does make unusual formations of cards which are mostly created by past success on the blockchain that I would've never thought of using so it can also work as a teacher sometimes.
My bot wins more often than it loses, but I have almost every card of all sets from Beta to Rebellion and most of my Chaos cards are at MAX. I'm also not greedy with how often my bot plays. I set it to play every 123 minutes or about every hour and a half. You can set it to play every hour so you don't run out of energy or every ten minutes to earn as much as possible before a season ends. I've found that letting the bot wait a bit longer to play gives the competition time to level up so you're always playing against softer players. It's better to win slowly and surely than to play all the time only to get beat and win nothing.
SplinterMate is the only Splinterlands bot-playing service that I've ever used so I can't compare it to others based on any experience, but I'm pretty sure it's the cheapest option or I would have used one of the others. It's only $1 a month to run the bot and you can pay with DEC, HIVE, SPS, or HBD so it's pretty convenient if you're already earning those coins. They will let you try out the bot for free for a day if you contact them on Discord. After the free 24-hour trial, I was pleased so I signed up and haven't had any problems in the last two years. I was a little confused about how to share my keys and set up the bot at first, but the customer service on their Discord server was fast and helpful. You're not going to get rich running a bot and it may take years for it to pay off, but it's a useful tool if you're a serious and long-term player. Thanks for reading about my bot experience. I hope this post was useful to anyone new or thinking about using a bot.
