Every morning, when my son wakes up, the first thing he asks me is: Dad, shall we play? His energy is such that the first thought of every morning is playing. The weekend is the desire and the time to play is very abundant because I don't work, my son doesn't go to school and all the time we have we dedicate to creating new ideas to stimulate his creativity.
Painting is one of his passions, all you need is paper, colors and a brush and his creativity begins to move. It's really adorable to watch him while he works like a true artist: he chooses the color, tries it on the paper, then changes it if he's not satisfied. I call him Giotto, like the well-known Italian painter, and he seems so tender to me that I really look at him with eyes full of love.
Weekends with him are now focused on planning activities that he often already lists during the week. Life as parents is now dedicated to the exclusion of their children and the soon arrival of their little brother will increase this lifestyle. I don't remember that my parents' generation was so attentive and caring, they certainly really gave their all for us children but the attitude of the new parents has changed for the better, there is more interest in their children and above all more participation in activities and in everyday play.
Maybe we are still a little children and these activities awaken the Peter Pan that sleeps inside us, so we feel comfortable painting monsters or building buildings with LEGO. Every week these play activities consolidate the relationship with our children, uniting us more and more with them and through play we also pass on to them some teachings that will probably remain points of reference. It is therefore important to stimulate and nourish this beautiful relationship with your children every day, also sacrificing part of our freedom.
