It's been awhile since I created a LEGO post, and since I really have nothing else planned or prepared for my post today, it's now a LEGO day! I first started this little side hustle of mine when my son moved out and left me with a lot of old LEGOs laying around packed in bins. He wasn't interested in keeping them so I had a couple of choices. I could give them away or I could sell them. I decided to go with the latter and it's now a little business.
I periodically buy LEGOs at thrift stores or yard sales. Most of the time I walk away empty handed, but every now and again I get lucky with multiple sets in boxes or bins. But just a word of warning, always inspect boxes or bins before bringing them inside your home. I had a friend who bought a box of stuff at a yard sale and as a bonus he got a houseful of bedbugs, always inspect things carefully to be on the safe side!
First up I like to share some very expensive LEGO mini-figures that have been produced over the year by the LEGO company. In the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con this solid bronze C-3PO was a raffle prize, and only one was ever made. Like its gold and silver counterparts this commands a very high premium. This bronze LEGO mini-figure will set you back over $32,000!

Bronze isn't silver or gold, but it's still pretty cool. Maybe I should start going to the San Diego Comic-Con because LEGO tends to give away very rare prizes there. I guess because LEGOLAND California is just north of San Diego that they participate yearly at the event. I wouldn't mind winning a $32,000 mini-figure, but I sure wouldn't pay that much to buy one!
Ultra Agents
If you've never heard of this LEGO creation you're not alone. I know next to nothing about them. I really haven't had very many of these, but this one came in a bin full of other builds and mini-figures that have already more than paid for themselves. So this is pure profit if I can get it to sell! First up is the ship build, which really is pretty big and complicated. In the end it wasn't missing any parts which was a relief, and it is cool looking! The bad news is that I'll be lucky to get $30 for it, just not very popular with collectors.
It also came with female agent riding a space bike. This was missing the back piece which also had a sticker on it, I circled the missing piece site. Because the set price is pretty low I'm not going to replace that part or sticker, it's not worth the money. Also missing is the female agent, again I won't replace her because of the overall low price of the set.
The villain is does look pretty awesome in this one, no idea what his name is though.
Next up is the male Ultra Agent with a jet pack and some random policeman they threw in the set. The policeman would certainly be killed in this matchup since he only seems to carry handcuffs and the villain has multiple weapons on his ship. Just saying...
And the instruction book, they do their best to make each set look exciting.
Time will tell how much I will get on this one or how long it will be listed before it does sell. They aren't all winners unfortunately.
Chima
LEGO created a show called Chima many years ago that didn't do all that well. I believe it only ran for one season and I never saw any of the episodes because my son wasn't interested in the show. They also produced many different sets with different mini-figures. The problem I have run into over and over is an over supply on the market. They just made too many so they sell a little slower and at much lower prices than most other franchise brands. Here are a few I just pulled out to research this morning, because I know very little about Chima and tend to avoid these sets.
Below are a couple which I've started to check out. The one on the left is called Leonidas and on the right Laval. The Laval has a cape which is fortunate because it will likely sell for slightly higher price. I'll probably get $5 best case scenario for Leonidas, if I'm really lucky, more probable is $3 to 4. The Laval I'll probably be able to pull in $10 if I'm lucky. As I have mentioned before, you can ask as much as you want for these items, but if no one is willing to pay you're wasting your time. So I tend to price things competitively because they need a new home!
The next three I lined up against my good old Frankenstein background build that I built for the last post. The one on the left is called Skinnet and I'll probably get around $8 on that one. The middle one is called Crug and I might pull in about $5 there. And on the right is Razar, prices on this one range for $3 to $12. To be competitive I may put a starting price of $3.99, I hate having items stuck for sale on eBay for a year or more because it's waste of my time. I try to get thing sold as quickly as possible.
And last but not least Crawley, not particularly valuable, but I can probably get $4 or a little more.
The Chima mini-figures really are pretty cool looking, it's just too bad they aren't more valuable...
That will wrap up my LEGO post for today. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the LEGOs I'm getting ready to flip, it's always satisfying to see them sell because I get paid! If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Thank you everyone for all of your support it is truly greatly appreciated. Have a great day everyone, the weekend draws near!
