Hello everyone ๐,
Happy Thursday๐ and a very warm welcome to my world ๐. A wonderful day fading away fast and as always I am raring to go with my stepping activities and some of the trending news. It is definitely a blessing to be alive today. Thank you for being here yet again ๐ and let's dig in ๐จ.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking ๐ฃ and jogging around the neighbourhood ๐ฒ. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze ๐. I had a rather short session then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the city centre for some errand. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news, reading a few stuff before bedtime. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going๐น; otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, Gaza trending as Israeli airstrikes hit residential buildings in Rafa. Seven people died in one of the buildings๐ฟ. The death toll after six months stands at over 33,000 dead๐ญ.
Also trending, 101detained Palestinians were released back to Gaza. Most of them described horrendous conditions they were held in and some of them have signs of torture, beatings and ill treatment๐.
Elsewhere Israeli prime minister, Netanyahu had a phone call with president Biden. Biden has asked for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, this especially after the death of the 7 aid workers two days ago.
Biden has warned Netanyahu of consequences if Israel doesn't change how it's conducting the war๐. Let's wait and see if Netanyahu was listening.
Also related, UK trending as more than 600 lawyers wrote a petition to the Prime minister. In the letter they have asked the UK to stop arming Israel. Adding that UK could be complicit to genocide and breaking of international law๐.
Not far off in Brussels, US secretary of state was attending NATO meeting. Anthony Blinken also condemned the killing of aid workers in Gaza, saying that attack on aid workers MUST be the last.
He also called for more aid to be let into Gaza.
In the other war, Russia has scaled up it's attacks on Ukraine๐. President Zelensky has warned of urgent need of weapons.
Still in Europe, a diplomatic spat has erupted between Poland and Israel after one Polish citizen was killed in that airstrike on aid workers vehicles๐ฟ.
Finally, rescue teams are still searching for survivors after yesterday's deadly earthquake in Taiwan. It was the strongest in 25 years and after shocks are still being felt๐. People whose houses were destroyed are sheltering in various centres.
Only time can heal them from that devastation๐ฏ.
So that was Thursday and I wanna thank you for reading this far ๐. I truly appreciate your continued support ๐ and love ๐. Sending back that love ๐ and lots of blessings ๐ผ๐ to everyone.
Check me out yet again tomorrow on an amazing high five Friday ๐. Until then keep stepping and enjoying yourselves to the max ๐ฏ.
So that's it, stay safe, take care and good bye ๐๐๐ Hakuna Matata ๐.
