Hello friends, today I feel so delighted to share with you this amazing place I visited this week. The place I visited is in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria. Onitsha is the city which has the largest market and the biggest marketplace in Africa. The name of the place I visited is mountain of fire church which is located along MCC road Onitsha.
The church is very big, the area is developed and it is accessible through the road. This church is located next to Gabbson concrete industrial Nigeria limited, a noiseless company with an open space which is still functional which specifically engages in electric pole production and molding of building blocks.
The architectural design of this church is mind blowing, it looked like a simple building from the outside, most especially from the frontage. The church has an underground building, the moment I stepped into the underground part of the building suddenly I had a sense of cold.
The church is big and looks solid and on its body a lot of finely laid bricks can be seen on parts of the building which are not painted. There are three major stairs through which one can be able to access the visible part of the building. From behind the building, the underground section becomes very visible and the building appears as a one storey building.
Within the compound just outside of the church building there is another small building constructed to serve as restroom, there is a male section and a female section which clearly can be assessed from different angles in such a way that it will be difficult for a man or woman to enter where is not meant for them without being seen.
The church also made provisions for water and the major source of water for the church is tap water, two big black rubber tanks can be seen not too far from the generator house. The church has a small building which is designed to accommodate their security personnels and it's designed in such a way that the security personnel can be inside without being easily noticed and because their vision is enhanced from the building, they get to see anyone before being noticed.
Another interesting section of this church is the book shop. I took my time to enter
and explore their book shop. The book shop doesn't look like a mega sized book shop but indeed there are very many books in the place which and the way they were properly arranged even adds to my amazement. There are hired personnel whose job is to secure the books and to make sales. On the other side of the building is the doorway that leads to the church canteen, only the sweet aroma that can be perceived from the entrance can tell newbies all that they need to know. Indeed different delicious meals are prepared in the place and different kinds of snacks and drinks can be purchased there too.
Inside the church looks like a whole different world, because it's different both in color and looks more spacious than the building itself. The space between the roof and the floor is mind blowing. The altar is decorated with different colorful lights which can be seen when the church is in section. There are many chairs. Inside the church there appears to be another upstairs supported by pillars which is visibly seen from inside the church building. This section is set to accommodate more people when there is need.
I really enjoyed my visit to the church especially because of the new experience and enjoyed buying some food and drinks from their canteen.
