'Less is more.'
That's what my sister would usually say. You don't have to too much to look so good. Once we were talking amongst ourselves -siblings- at home at my sister had said something in the lines of, ..classy women don't need to do too much. They don't need a 40inch wig, very long nails, too much makeup and they definitely don't need to look like a banner for a designer brand cause it makes them look cheap.
And although we all laughed at the description, which we found hilarious, it made sense to me when I thought about it. I look into the real world, and I could easily tell the difference between the classy ones and wannabes. And this is very much applicable to the guys, too. Look around you, you'll find lots of them.
I'm all for looking put together and clean. I put in the effort to look my best, but I try not to go overboard or compromise on comfort.
My sense of style is usually edfortless and flawless. Maybe I should say that I have it easy with looking so good in whatever outfit that I wear. It just has been my case since long before.
It does help so much that I can combine pieces well enough and bring together good colors all to create magic.
However, one thing that I like not to do is compromise on quality. I would be lying if I said that male clothing would come cheap. Around here, they don't.
Certainly, there are other options, albeit one has to deal with using them for only a short while before they wear off or deal with looking tacky, in some cases. And I don't like that for me. However, I try to purchase quality items within my budget and make sure to not get what I have no use for for some flimsy reasons.
Even with having a tailor make an outfit these days, it's all not so cheap either; fabrics, items to make the outfit with, labor. I know what these things cost so I don't fault my designer when he comes with a price except I find it very ridiculous.
I just would rather have a few quality pieces than a wardrobe filled with so many things
I'm not into trends. Somehow, I want to say that my style is influenced by home. Growing, watching my parents wear what they have and switching it up rightly, watching my older siblings do the same too and without care for what was the rave in the outside world rubbed off on me. I do as they, just, I might say that I am a little extra. Call me the fashionista of the house if you feel the need.
Going for colors that complement and pop my skin, making sure they're of good quality fabric which must be clean and well ironed(if there's the need), adding staple accessories which is usually just a wristwatch or cufflinks(if it's a native attire), going with with most complementing footwear and ensuring that I feel very comfortable and confident in the entire look is all the effort I need to put in to look dapper. Elegance shouldn't be difficult.
This is my response to the KISS #129 prompt.
Thanks for stopping by.
