Playing with words: Eat the worms

Words: workshop, worm, layer, table, spy, waterfall, heaven.

He was standing in the workshop and looking at the head on the table. Well-trimmed, with silky black hair, wide blue eyes, and bulging pink lips. He gave a crooked smile and started caressing the head.
"I can't wait to add Jeremiah's head to my collection. Every single one of them must die. I must be the only option for choosing the Master's successor."

At that moment, he felt a movement behind one of the walls of the workshop. He immediately hid the head under the table and said to himself:
"Could it be that Master has assigned me a spy? It seems that he has become suspicious of my behavior lately."

Aharon remained motionless for a few moments and when he was sure that no one was around, he took the head, hid it under his clothes and left the workshop.

The next morning, he was working on a half-finished statue and was removing layers of mud from it with his tools, when the master came to him. Tall, well-trained and with a penetrating look that could penetrate stone like acid.

Aharon's heart rate increased and his hands started shaking.
"I must be calm, or Master will suspect me."

He swallowed and tried to keep his cool.

"Aharon, come with me. There's something you need to see."

Aharon got up and followed his master. When he realized that they were going to the autopsy room, he paled and gasped.

They entered the room and the master went to the body that was on the bed under the sheet and removed the sheet from it. Aharon was shocked when he saw the corpse's face.
    "Who... is this headless corpse?"

The master looked meaningfully at Aharon's worried face.
"You know that well, don't you?"

    Fear filled Aharon's whole being.
"Why do you think I should know?"

The master said in an angry tone:
"Stop pretending. One of the students saw you kill poor Abel."

Aharon shook his head vigorously as a sign of negation.
"No, no, he lied. Master, he must have slandered me because he is jealous of me."

The master fixed his decisive gaze on Aharon's terrified face.
"That's not all. They found Abel's head in your closet, as well as the heads of the rest of the unfortunate students you murdered."

Aharon fell on his knees, pulled himself forward, grabbed the master's robe with his hands and started sobbing.
"Because I was a half angel, they always made fun of me, humiliated me and hurt me."

Master kicked Aharon hard in the chest and threw him back.
"Stop it. I know very well that you killed them because of your greediness."

He took out a bag from his pocket and threw it in front of Aharon.
"Now eat these poisonous worms and die."

Aharon said as tears flowed down his cheeks.
    "Please don't kill me, Master."

"Bringing you from earth to heaven was the worst mistake of my life. I should have thrown you off the top of the waterfall to die the day I found you... eat those damn worms soon."

    Aharon screamed.
    "No, no."

The master bent down, picked up the bag from the ground, opened it and took out a handful of worms that were squirming among each other, then grabbed Aharon's hair from the back and pushed the worms over his mouth.

Aharon grabbed the master's hands and tried to push him back, but failed. The master slammed his fist full of worms into Aharon's mouth and Aharon opened his mouth unconsciously due to the pain and the master poured the worms into it.

Then he threw him on the floor, sat on him and shoved the worms down his throat, down and down. Aharon's face turned red and choked sounds came out of his throat.

After making sure that the worms had gone down enough, the master pulled his hand out of Aharon's throat and placed it firmly on his mouth so that he could not throw up the worms.

Aharon struggled for a while under the master and after a few moments he calmed down. The master got up from his dead body and then hugged him and started crying.
