Greetings @needleworkmonday community, today I want to share with you an embroidery that took me quite some time, besides how laborious it was. I really did it just for fun and ended up with several punctures, also, later on I want to use this embroidery for something else.
Anyway, this embroidery took me about 3 months, of course, there was 1 month that I didn't do anything and I continued it every time I could, until I decided to finish it. If you ask me if I would do it again, mmm, I think I would, in a bigger format and with the right materials.
-Embroidery threads in the following colors:
-Black
-Red: various shades
-Yellow: various shades
-Green: various shades
-Blue: various shades
-Gray: various shades
-A piece of jean fabric, the size you want the embroidery to be.
-Entretela
-Embroidery hoop.
-Scissors.
Some time ago I wanted to do something related to the famous saga of Magic, Harry Potter, so I decided to make the shield of Hodwarts School; I searched several reference images on the internet and the one that seemed best to me was the following. I feel that when I embroider as if I were painting, so I assumed this embroidery in the same way as painting with colors or other material, the problem later was in the size in which I did it, it did not let me make the details in a better way.
Once I had the reference image, I drew it on a piece of jean fabric, the embroidery would be in a square of 12cm x 12cm; but the drawing looked bad, it was not noticeable. Once the drawing was better traced, I tried to embroider it in red thread, but it still looked very ugly. I looked again for another piece of jean fabric, I repeated it again and nothing; until I finally got something decent, and I passed it to a paper, which I thought would dissolve with water, but no, it took me a lot to remove the remains of the paper, later I will buy a water-soluble fabric to water.
Finally, once I had all the outline of the drawing and removed most of the paper, I started embroidering through the filling technique, the backgrounds of each house of Hodwarts, starting with Gryffindor, the one with the lion on a red background, then Slytherin (green), Hufflepuff (yellow) and finally Ravenclow, the one with a blue background; to each one of them, I added in the edges, a darker tone, this is to give it more depth, of course, I didn't get it as I wanted, because I didn't have all the tones and the threads were of different material.
Once the backgrounds were done, I proceeded to embroider the animals that are in them; starting with the base colors and then the black outline, to better highlight the figures. The eagle (Ravenclow) was the most difficult to embroider, it has many details, but something came out, it looks more like a canary 😅. To give you a little more context about the meaning of each house, the first one is the Lion with the red background (Gryffindor) which symbolizes courage, honor, valor... The snake with the green background, represents ambition, cunning, ingenuity... The badger with the yellow background, is about hard work, loyalty, dedication..., and finally, the eagle on the blue background, wisdom, curiosity, learning....
A note, I embroidered the background first, because I felt that if I did the figures first, the background would swallow them later, but well, this is up to each one's choice. After that, I embroidered with yellow thread all the shield in general and what it has in the center, where the initial of Hodwarts goes; at this point I wanted to do it with golden thread, but the one I had didn't work out, only the one in the center I added it, to try to reach the reference image.
Finally, I filled in the letter H and outlined the shield in black. I cut the leftover parts of the jean fabric and sewed all the outline, to give it a better finish. And that's how it turned out, I'm waiting for your opinions about it.

Saludos comunidad de @needleworkmonday, hoy quiero compartirles un bordado que me llevo bastante tiempo, además de lo trabajoso que fue. Realmente lo hice por mera diversión y termine con varios pinchazos, asimismo, más adelante quiero destinar este bordado a algo más.
En fin, este bordado me llevo como 3 meses claro, hubo 1 mes que no hice nada y lo continuaba cada vez que podía; hasta que me decidí a ya terminarlo. Si me pregunta si lo volvería hacer, mmm, creo que si, en un formato más grande y con los materiales adecuados.
-Hilos para bordar de los siguientes colores:
•Negro
•Rojos: diversos tonos
•Amarillo: diversos tonos
•Verde: diversos tonos
•Azul: diversos tonos
•Gris: diversos tonos
-Un retazo de tela jean, del tamaño que quieras el bordado.
-Entretela
-Aro para bordar.
-Tijera.
Hace un tiempo quería hacer algo relacionado a la famosa saga de Magia, Harry Potter, así que me decidí hacer el escudo de la Escuela de Hodwarts; busqué varias imágenes de referencia en internet y la que me pareció mejor fue la siguiente. Yo siento que al bordar en como si estuviese pintando, por lo que a este bordado lo asumí de la misma forma que pintar con colores u otro material, el problema más adelante fue en el tamaño en el que lo hice, no me dejo hacer los detalles de mejor manera.
Al tener ya la imagen de referencia, lo dibuje en un retazo de tela jean, el bordado me saldría en un cuadrado de 12cm x 12cm; pero me quedaba mal el dibujo, no se notaba. Ya el dibujo mejor trazado, lo intente bordar en hilo rojo, pero aún seguía viéndose muy feo. Busqué nuevamente, otro retazo de tela jean, lo volví a repetir y nada; hasta que por fin me quedó algo decente, y lo pase a un papel, que pensé que se disolvería con el agua, pero no, me costó bastante que se quitaran los restos del papel, más adelante compraré una tela hidrosoluble al agua.
En fin, ya tener todo el delineado del dibuje y quitarle gran parte del papel, comencé bordado a través de la técnica de relleno, los fondos de cada casa de Hodwarts, comenzando con el de Gryffindor, el que posee el león en fondo rojo, luego el de Slytherin (verde), Hufflepuff (amarillo) y de ultimo Ravenclow, el de fondo azul; a cada uno de ellos, le agregué en los bordes, un tono más oscuro, esto es para darle más profundidad, claro, no me quedo como quería, porque no tenia todos los tonos y los hilos eran de diferente material.
Ya con los fondos realizados, procedí a bordar los animales que se encuentran en ellos; iniciando con los colores bases y luego el delineado negro, para remarcar mejor las figuras. El águila (Ravenclow) fue el que más me costó bordar, posee muchos detalles, pero ahí algo salió, parece más bien un canario 😅. Para entrarles un poco más en contexto sobre el significado de cada casa, la primera es el León con el fondo rojo (Gryffindor) que simboliza el coraje, honor, valor… La serpiente con el fondo verde, representa la ambición, la astucia, el ingenio… El tejón con el fondo amarillo, se trata del trabajo duro, la lealtad, la dedicación…, y por último, el águila en el fondo azul, la sabiduría, la curiosidad, el aprendizaje….
Una acotación, bordé primero los fondos, porque sentí que, si hacía de primero las figuras, el fondo se las tragaría después, pero bueno, esto es a elección de cada quien. Posterior a ello, bordé con hilo amarillo todo el escudo en general y lo que tiene en el centro, donde va la inicial de Hodwarts; en este punto quería hacerlo con hilo dorado, pero no me resultó el que tenía, solo el del centro se lo añadí, para tratar de llegarle a la imagen de referencia.
Ya para finalizar, rellené la letra H y delineé todo el escudo en color negro. Corté las partes sobrantes de la tela jean y cosí todo el contorno, para darle un mejor acabado. Y así quedó, espero sus opiniones al respecto.
