Things to do, Places to see - A Surprise Lunch & Cold (GOOD) Beer on a Hot Day

    Hi Hive!

For the longest time I have been a firm believer in the idea that you are always exactly where you need to be to get where you are supposed to go.
Yesterday was a fine example of that.

It started out simply enough... I had been planning on dropping the car off at a local carwash before taking a short walk over to a nearby place that was supposed to be the feature of my #WednesdayWalk. At the same time, I was hoping to find something interesting for this week's Proofofbrain Photo Contest.
To my disappointment, the carwash had recently been permanently shut down, which ruined my plans for the walk a little as I still had to get the car washed.

Figuring that I had to cancel my plans and call the day a bust, I left the car at another carwash place, just around the corner from my house.
The day was to beautiful and it was too hot (37C/98F) for me to feel like going home, so when someone floated the idea of grabbing lunch and a beer at a local restaurant, Kenny Gee's, which is just across the street, I was all for it!

Now, I haven't been to this restaurant in a long time. (Things had been a little bit rocky and uncertain for the past few months, but it is finally okay again. So grateful for that!) I was surprised to see it looking completely different from what I remembered. It had always been a nice place, but as I found out later, it is under new management now, an boy, did they upgrade the place quite a bit!

Even though it is in the middle of town, the view was very nice, which was something I greatly appreciated as we found a nice cool, shaded spot on the deck-like area near the fountain.

After ordering some drinks and food, I got back to running around all over the place, taking photos. (Everyone there was very nice about allowing me to do this, after I explained what I was doing, haha)
Luckily it was the perfect time of day, just after the lunch time rush, but well ahead of the nighttime crowd arriving.

It was too hot for me to want a big meal, so I just had some yummy grilled halloumi, which was absolutely delicious. (It is one of my favourite foods!)

I have to say...I don't usually drink beer, but I have tried enough samples at an assortment of places to know that it is always a good idea to order a craft beer from anywhere you go.
This one, as you can see is called Buffels Brew and while I do not know nearly enough to describe the flavours and taste of it (I'll leave it up to everyone who is able to, to just come and try it for themselves!) I will say this much...it was freakin' good! I think I like beer now, or this one at least. Maybe I will do more beer posts in the future...

The interior of the restaurant was also very lovely as it was very neat, well laid out and had pretty awesome art all over the walls, which always makes me happy.

The theme here is clearly music...which makes sense as they always have live music on Friday nights. As a music lover myself, I will definitely be posting about that sometime in the near future. (Just need to find a way to have a night off from the endless stuff and things.)

There is a lot more I could show and say, but for the sake of keeping this post from getting too long, I will leave it at that for now.
All in all, I was very happy with how the day turned out, and glad that I was able to rediscover this place. I had a lovely time, enjoyed some good food and vibes and was even able to take some photos for my photo contest entry.

Think I should see if they will allow me to sit there and draw a little bit while having a coffee sometime. Maybe I'll meet some Hive friends there someday!

    Well that's it!
    Till next time!
