I attended the Christmas party of my son in their school

It has been years since I last attended a school Christmas party. If I remember correctly, it was when my daughter was in 4th grade, during her elementary years.
I stopped attending when she reached 5th and 6th grade, as she could already handle herself.
My son has started his early childhood education and is currently in daycare, also known as the developmental stage.
We met before the Christmas party to discuss the menu. We decided to use the leftover money from our weekly contributions to make Pork Humba the main dish.

The menu was separated into four groups based on the cooking schedule for feeding times.
The Monday group's menu included a hotdog topped with marshmallows.
The three groups will be served a menu of pork menudo, fried chicken, and lumpia.
The parents contributed a variety of sweet treats, including ice cream, suman, ice candy, biko, and other desserts.

I was responsible for preparing the hotdog with marshmallows for our group.
The parents decided to have a dance presentation. I expressed my uncertainty about participating due to a lack of practice time.
I arrived at work around 7:30 am on the day of the Christmas party, as I needed to pick up the gifts and had a few things to finish before heading to my son's school for his 9 am party. I planned to stay at work for a couple of hours, but many students arrived needing to print documents. I couldn't turn them down, so I got to my son's school only 10 minutes before the party started.
The teacher was already cooking rice when I arrived. I was surprised to find that only the teacher was there. I thought I was late, but the other parents and kids still hadn't arrived.

The teacher had already arranged the tables and chairs, and after a few minutes, the other children and parents arrived. One of the parents cooked lumpia and pancit at the school.

    THE KIDS WAITING

    THE FOOD AND THE GIFTS

The event commenced around 10 am with a prayer, followed by the singing of the National, provincial, and local hymns.

    THE PARLOR GAMES
The parlor games started, and my son eagerly joined in. He had a lot of fun, but after a while, he grew tired from dancing during a Trip to Jerusalem game (or stop dancing with chairs) and needed to take a break. I understand why he gets tired so easily due to his asthma.

    LUNCH TIME
Lunch was served after the games, and the parents fetched the food for their children

    DANCE PRESENTATION
Despite a lack of practice time, we managed to give a good dance performance before lunch.

The gift I received. I wasn't able to picture my son's gift as he hurriedly open it.

    EXCHANGED GIFTS
After having our lunch. The exchange gift was started.
My son arrived at school early and was the first to receive his number and gift.

The parents exchanged gifts after the kids; I was the first to receive mine.
After exchanging gifts, we prepare to pack the leftover food so we can have something to eat when we get home.

    Final thoughts
It's essential for me, as a parent of a toddler, to make time to attend school events and support my child. Even with my daily work commitments, I always prioritize attending these events. For instance, after attending my child's school party, I returned to work around 1 pm.
