Greetings to all. I'm so glad and thankful for keep supporting my blog channel. For this time around, I would like to introduce to you one of my favourite instruments (local musical instrument) based in Sabah. It is called 'Sundatang' and it's originally played/ perform by one of the minority ethnic in Sabah called Rungus.

Nowadays, there are variety type of Sundatang ( I mean the design) can be found recently. The picture I took before, this was the original form of Sundatang but now we can see the modern design and playing technique to play that instrument.

It's the same with the guitar.. as time goes on,the design and the size of the body is slowly keep changing the shape, the tone, and the playing technique as well. By the way, I will considered this instrument as a traditional musical instrument that have some improvement on it.

It is not as easy to play Sundatang but I'm not saying it's hard to play though. It's about the skill and the proper way to play the instrument, and learn some traditional attempt to feel the way you play that instrument. I can assure that you will fall in love with the sound and the lovely tone produced by this instrument. Somehow it's originally played by only five common notes so called pentatonic scale but as we make a little bit improvement so we can play several notes and can play more songs by this instrument.

One of the famous artist in Sabah Mr. Roger with his new rendition of Sundatang.

And this is Mr. Adrian Johnny with another type of modern Sundatang.

And I'm so proud to introduce you one of my hometown band called Tuni Sundatang, the musician and the Sundatang maker. You can actually find them in Youtube channel how they performing the instrument.

Hope you guys enjoyed!! God bles..
