    Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 115, Edition 03 of our Weekly Featured Content.

    So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on our third topic for this week which is “TO SUE OR NOT TO SUE?”

    But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last one which was “PHYSICAL APPEARANCE”

    This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts physical appearances of the average person and how important it was when it came to interviews.

    We got to see just how much looks was valued during interviews and how our appearance can either make or mar the results of the interview, depending on situation on ground. It might not be fair but a lot of emphasis is placed on our looks and we have to make sure we step up to the requirements when we have to.


    For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w115e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors will be listed below.

    This author told us that in the world of today, talent alone would never be enough. We also have to get a little knowledge on the benefits of proper presentation. And in the rudiments of presentation, your appearance is the first thing you’ll be judged on. Which is what makes it extremely important during intervieiws.

    For this author, she believes that it’s totally unfair that many companies still have policies that select talent based on appearances, many times it means that those with skill would be overlooked due to such prejudice. She calls for better policies to be put in place tthat encourages inclusivity. One where everyone will have a fair shot regardless of what they look like.


    BEYOND SKILLS: THE ROLE OF APPEARANCE IN JOB INTERVIEWS @nkemakonam89

    This author told us about cases where something as basic as a form of dressing cost someone a job. Even without the interview taking place. That shows just how much value is placed on a person’s appearance. But then, the type of job also determines the type of dressing involved, and knowing this can help the person prepare adequately.
