The thief on the cross talks about the thief who was nailed by the side of Jesus Christ and the end of his life and also the life of Jesus Christ on earth.
The thief on the cross was given the chance to go to heaven by Jesus Christ. I know that you all may be thinking about the reason why he may go to heaven even though he was not baptized.
It’s necessary to understand that some people and prophets were not baptized but went to heaven and that’s because there was no one to baptize them.
The likes of Abraham, Abel, Elijah, Enoch and also some other people who were not baptized but they will go to heaven. This same thing applies to the thief who was nailed on the cross alongside Jesus Christ.
He will gain entrance to heaven because in Luke 23:43 which says;
**And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
This is the reason why he will go to heaven because Jesus wants him to. And there is an exception because the thief had never met Jesus Christ before so he absolutely knows nothing about baptism which makes him an ignorant person so it’s assumed that all what he is doing doesn’t make an extreme meaning to him because he feels it is normal but in our case, it is never like this.
This is because the popularity of Jesus Christ has spread worldwide that everyone has heard about him and for us make heaven, we have to get baptized which is written in the Bible.
Matthew 28:19-20 says, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.
This is the way to make heaven and we can never be exempted because we have read and heard a lot about Jesus Christ.
