It's so beautiful inside

Hello @hive-naija! This actually happens to be my first post in this community. So when I saw the prompts for this week, my brain already started to structure what to write for both of them. But as the rule may have it, I guess I have to stick to one. I decided to go for the second prompt for this entry:

Are you an outdoor or indoor person? If you're an outdoor person, what's your favourite part about being outdoors, and if you're an indoor person, what's the best part of being indoors or your favourite indoor activities.

Growing up as a kid, I was more of an outdoor person, I loved going out alot. My two legs just couldn't stay one place. I could set out a day just to go and visit friends; both the ones I knew where they lived and the ones I hadn't gone to their houses before. I remember how my mom always complained of my frequent movement outside the house.

Sometimes, I even had to sneak out of the house because I knew if I asked permission from her she would refuse me, so what was the need? I figured if I left the house already, there was nothing she could do. It was when I came back that the drama was going to play out, but by then I would've already gone and come back from where I went to. All I had to do was to keep my mouth shut and an innocent face like I was going to repent while she yelled at me. After all of that, I go to my room and begin to make plans for the next place I'll be going to.

The only time I was around during the day time is either when my school was in session or when my dad was around, because he wouldn't condone such from me.

But as I grew older, I preferred staying indoors. With the way I was behaving when I was much younger and still in the confines of my parents, one would think that when I made it to the university I was going to be moving all over the place, I thought the same thing too.

But surprisingly, I began to have less interest stepping out as often. I can stay a whole day indoors and I'll be totally okay with it, which is very unlike me when I was much younger. Staying indoors became more preferable to me. Even when I made it to the university, I seldom go out like the way the rest of my mates do. Most times when I'm out is when I'm going for lectures or anything related to it and church.

What I love about staying indoors that moving out frequently may not be able to do for me is that it helps me have time to myself. It blocks out a lot of distractions. Most beautiful ideas I have been able to come up with was not achieved when I was outdoors— although there were few that I achieved through being outdoors, very few— they were results of being indoors.

Another aspect I like about being indoors is when it is raining. Nothing beats that. I mean, where is the best place to be when there's an outpour of rain? I love the view when I look through the window as the rain pours down.

Rain can also serve as a sleeping pill for me when I am at home and it's pouring. I can find myself sleeping throughout the rainfall.

I still do enjoy going out though. But if there's one I prefer over the other, that would be staying indoors.
