Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un nuevo post bastante chévere, esta vez de un nuevo set de fotos de cuando me alisaba el cabello. Aunque evidentemente nací con el cabello rizado y hasta llegué a tener afro cuando era muy pequeña, hubo un tiempo en mi vida donde los demás niños se burlaban mucho de mi cabello por ser esponjoso y "despeinado", así fue desde preescolar hasta gran parte de mi adolescencia. Mientras más crecía mas crecían las burlas hacia mi cabello, llegué a plancharlo a los 9 años pero no lo hacía seguido, comencé a hacerlo de manera más frecuente cuando inicié bachillerato. Desde los 13 a los 16 años me planchaba el cabello casi todos los días ya que mantenerlo natural me causaba mucha inseguridad, sin embargo el plancharlo tanto me deterioró tanto el cabello al punto de que se me caía y incrementó más las burlas.
Sin embargo en un punto de mi vida llegué a conocer mucha gente sumamente maravillosa que me enseñó a quererme tal cual soy, no solo por mi cabello sino en general y un día decidí que ya iba a dejar de plancharlo. Realmente fue un proceso largo ya que los primeros meses fueron de dejar mi cabello al natural, tenia mechones de cabello que oscilaban entre liso y natural lo cual se veía raro (la semana que viene compartiré algunas fotos), pero acepté que para tener mi cabello bonito y sano iba a ser un proceso lento ya que también tenía que dejarlo crecer, por lo que lo cuidé con paciencia para tenerlo como lo tengo ahora. Estas fotos son de mi adolescencia donde me planchaba mucho el cabello, las veo y no me reconozco debido a que actualmente tengo el cabello muy diferente en cuanto a textura y hasta color, pero me alegra saber que pude llegar a aceptar mi cabello tal cual y como es y ser feliz como soy, espero que les gusten estos recuerdos!
Hello again! Today I come to you with a cool new post, this time of a new set of photos from when I used to straighten my hair. Although I was obviously born with curly hair and I even had an afro when I was very little, there was a time in my life where other kids made fun of my hair for being fluffy and "unkempt", it was like that from preschool until most of my adolescence. The more I grew up the more the teasing towards my hair grew, I got to iron it when I was 9 years old but I didn't do it often, I started to do it more frequently when I started high school. From the age of 13 to 16 I ironed my hair almost every day since keeping it natural caused me a lot of insecurity, however ironing it so much deteriorated my hair to the point that it fell out and increased the teasing.
However at one point in my life I met many wonderful people who taught me to love myself as I am, not only for my hair but in general and one day I decided that I was going to stop flat ironing it. It was really a long process since the first months were to leave my hair natural, I had strands of hair that oscillated between straight and natural which looked weird (next week I will share some pictures), but I accepted that to have my hair nice and healthy it was going to be a slow process since I also had to let it grow, so I took care of it with patience to have it as I have it now. These photos are from my adolescence where I used to flat iron my hair a lot, I see them and I don't recognize myself because nowadays I have very different hair in terms of texture and even color, but I'm glad to know that I was able to accept my hair as it is and be happy as I am, I hope you like these memories!
