The thing that I was the most insecure about since I was a kid was my hair. I have natural curly hair and I would stand out (in a bad way for them lol) because there's not a lot of people in my country that have this hair type.

I would get teased at in school by other kids, and mostly got remembered for my hair. As a kid and only person in the family to have curly hair, I never knew how to take care of it so it would just go crazy everyday. A lot of times (or all of the time) my hair would be in whatever sorts of hairdo's like ponytails, buns, braids, etc. just to keep it "tamed" otherwise it would also get itchy and hot for me.

It was only when I was in college that I learned to properly care for my curls and let them all lose. Since then, I started loving them. :D

Because of that insecurity, I've always wanted to straighten my hair but would never do it because of the damage and maintenance needed. One time, I was able to try a wig (straight hair) and I was able to see how I would look like with straight hair and boi it changed my life. XD

Since then, I owned wigs mostly only for photoshoots and cosplays though. I didn't own them to wear outside cos that would look too obvious but anyway. I loved having been able to change my hairstyles and colors anytime I want... and mostly for creative purposes. :D

Now I have a lot of wigs and here are some of them.

Well ofc a pic of my natural hair to compare. ^

I love wigs that look natural AF like this one. I don't know about you, but when I wear wigs I feel like a different person. I think it might have been because my identity is strongly tied with my curly hair considering how I grew up with it. But yeah. Wigs are like masks to me that I feel like I'm always a different person when I have them on.

I will match the vibe of the wig and they will be different each time lol. This is now my new favorite wig cos it looks so freaking natural. :D

And then of course with the crazy colors. XD

Back in college I would bleach my curly hair and they would get fried and of course damaged AF. I was able to dye it orange though most of the time it just remained an ugly rust. But yeah I also wanted to have different hair colors but my hair would not allow me to since you can't damage curly hair too much otherwise it would turn "straight" which is an ugly looking type of straight.

So wigs enable me to have the pink hair I've always wanted haha.

This is also pretty much my vibe. I like pink and black. :P

Last one in this post is this wavy wig that also looks quite similar with the previous one. The bangs though are not the same and this one has a middle part.

A small difference in hair style or color can change the whole look entirely. Not only in physical ways but also in mental and emotional ways. A self esteem can be boosted even with small changes in the hair.

    So yeah, hair matters. :D
